New owner of the Lincoln LSx..........

Hey I remember this website.... This thread has been rather entertaining to say the least. I'm glad to see the car is still in good hands and may possibly make it to the next level in performance.

This car definitely has unique factor to it. Of all the cars I've ever owned, which is 21 to be exact, this one takes the cake as far as getting the most attention when I drove it. It seemed like I couldn't go anywhere without somebody asking me about it or telling me how great it looked. (I'm not trying to toot my own horn here) So I suppose one could say that this car has some form of an "elite" status.

Looking good man and hope you enjoy the car a little bit longer than the previous owner!

You can do it all over again with a Gen II! All you have to do is trade me that beautiful E-class ;)

As much as i love my LS....that E55 kills it.

But also costs twice as much.

Haha sure man, we can trade straight up. I'm sure the Gen 2 is way nicer anyway LOL. But God I love my E55. The car is amazing for sure.

Lol. I've had it for a month now. I get about a pm a week asking what it would take to buy it. I usually don't get a reply back. Looks like I'll still have it for a while.

You need to upgrade the brakes to support all the horsepower.

Although the stock LS brakes are actually very good for such a large and heavy vehicle.

My old car had wilwood 6 pistons....this car stops like :q:q:q:q compared to that car LOL. I don't expect it to, but I about :q:q:q:q the first time I hit the brakes deep into the 100's.... Scary was an understatement.

Brakes on the LS are only two piston if i remember correctly and much better than a lot of other cars on the road.

You can get some better stopping power the with the rotor pros kit. Most of us on here have it. Slotted and drilled front and rear rotors with front and rear stainless steel brake lines and ceramic pads for $350 shipped i think it was.

These are some sweet brakes but im not dropping 5grand on stopping power. Ill pay up to $1000 for front and $1000 for rear.

I wish they had a 75% off sale lol.

The standard pads on the LS are semi-metallic and the lines are just rubber. But yeah im sure it doesnt compare to a multiple piston willwood setup.

IIRC, the Stoptech set-up bested the stock brakes by something like 5 feet. IMHO, not enough to plop down 5 large. The SS lines do a really nice job of firming-up the pedal.

Just by flushing the old brake fluid (dont think previous owner ever did) and installing new pads and rotors the pedal got very firm compared to the mushy feel it had before.

Can only imagine how much better it would be with the ss lines.

I agree the brakes aren't that great on the old car. I had the rotors turned and put new pads on it but nothing special. I had planned on doing that less expensive brake kit with the ss braided lines but never got around to it. I'm sure just the new lines alone would help get rid of that soft brake pedal feel.

BTW I don't have any problems stopping over 100mph with my 8 piston brakes up front and 6 piston in the rear LOL.

One night I was making pulls on a highway by my house; after the 3rd or so one, the brakes were DONE. Luckily I had a little room to spare lol. 90% of the time I just cruise around. The brakes aren't getting upgraded.

8 piston??

Thats insane.

Yep they are pretty ridiculous. Here's a pic of the 14.2" rotors and 8 piston calipers behind the stock 18s.

Couldn't help but notice that beautiful paint as well. You were serious about the trade right? I can be there in an hour. haha.
