Hi there,
I got a p0304 code and learned that Cylinder 4 is misfiring. So, I assume the coil is bad since I am running about 80,000 miles without ever having replaced one of the notoriously-bad LS coils.

Question is, how do I know which one is #4? I actually have the shop manuals for the car, but the cylinder numbers are not to be found.

Anyone know?

Thanks,
Andrew

Be sure to replace the spark plug too. In fact at 80K I would just go ahead and replace all the spark plugs now.

Cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 front to rear on passenger side then 5-6-7-8 front to rear on driver side. The info is in the book but you really have to dig for it. I think I saw it in the engine repair section somewhere.

I found it here. But this is the configuration fir the v8:

Firewall
4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5
Front
