Brakes losing pressure

So my brakes are messing up, i took off the tires everything looks in order

But theres brake fluid on my brake pedal... Where could it be coming from?
 
The only way for brake fluid to be on the pedal is from a leak in the master cylinder. It would be consuming brake fluid, possibly filling the brake booster, then following the push-rod path to the pedal arm. Extreme excess would be sucked up the vacuum line to the intake manifold. Theoretically.
