Are the leather seats cover on waranty? I've got 32k miles and the driver seat leather literally coming apart. I've never had this happen in the 9 cars I've owned in the past and all were leather. I'll get pics up later today if it'll help.

I had the same problem with my 04V6 LS. The problem area for me was on the left vertical side of the drivers seat (back section, not the seat itself). The dealer has pictures from Ford that shows what they will and will not cover. My problem was that the leather was coming apart from the backing material. I got the seat-cover replaced under warrenty. However it's happening again. I'm convinced that it's an inherent issue with the leather, no matter how many times they replace it it will still occur.

Bring it into the dealer and insist that they look at it with the pictures from Ford Motor. In my case it was pretty cut and dry, it matched the pictures exactly.

Let me know, Good luck

hey im having the same issue with the driver seat, will check to see if its under warrenty but knowing them they will say that wear and tear of usage.

Warning!!!!

Guys Be Careful. I seriously warn you guys on this one with my deepest regards. I had the dealership attempt this on an insurance claim. Plain and simple, nobody could do it! They kept my car for 8 months trying to replace the leather covers. In the process, they sent it to 4 Lincoln dealerships in the area and then at least 2 custom leather upholstery places and one out of state. Each time, each location said that it should only take a couple days. Well, after 8 months, I was pissed to say the least. They ended up just replacing my front seats with new ones. The problem they told me was that it is doggone near impossible to replace the leather covers on LS seats. They say that something about the way the leather attaches to the seat is different from most cars and is just nearly impossible to do. After 8 months and so many Lincoln dealers and custom upholtstery places, I have to give them some type of consideration on that.

If you are going to get it done first ask the dealership if anybody there has actually done it before. If so, please let me know the name and number of the dealership. I would like to personally give it to my dealership's manager and to my insurance company. They were trying to save money by not replacing the seats initially, but can you imagine how much they paid in rental car fees over 8 months just to eventually replace the seats anyway.

Where in the world do you live. I replace my driver seat back leather cover on my 2002. It is not hard at all, just takes some time and know how. It is not any different than any other leather seat covers out there. Just to let you know.

dude, it took the dealer one day to do this job. Granted I waited 3 or 4 weeks for the part to come in, but I had my car during that time.

What year LS? Is it one of the first models maybe? I know the leather was different on them

That's just what I figured. Now I did wait a few weeks for the cover to come in, but the other 7 months was waiting for them to try to put the cover on. Now it was the front driver's seat on an 00 LS. There are tons of Lincoln dealerships here and they even shipped the car up to a specialist in NJ. No haps! All I remember them saying was something about the way the clips were positioned. Apparently, you could get the leather back on the seat but you just can't reattach it. Anybody else have a similar experience with a 00?

That's unbelievable. There's just no way a custom car interior shop could be unable to do the job in short order. If you "can't reattach it," then how, in the name of all that's holy, did the guys who built the seat attach it in the first place?

I would think the newer LS seats with the a/c would be harder to replace.
