What did you do to your LS today?

#1 suspect would be that the moonroof drain hose has pulled free at the front right corner. Feel the right A pillar. Is is wet too?
Is that what the black plastic rail looking thing is on the sunroof?? Cause that popped off once when I went to open the sunroof, but I thought it was a guide rail or whatever so I just whacked it back in its place.

No, not the deflector.

Today I drove it! :) Hadn't in a month or two. Cause the driver's window fell into the door. Again. I think it's happened almost 1/2 dozen times since I bought it new. Like to send Will Smith to the home of whoever designed this mechanism.

Today I decided to PNO (Planned Non Op) my LS. Saves the price of registration ($190) and getting it smogged (about $60. Assuming it passes.) Also can let insurance lapse. I should make it a winter only car cause I cannot get the AC to work consistently in summer. Oh and I recently bought my wife's mkZ hybrid which gets twice the mileage that the LS does. And gasoline out here has a new additive - gold.

Right A Pillar is about as dry as Ben Shapiro's poor wife

Well, I guess that more investigation is needed then. 1. Is it water or coolant on the floor board?
Well, it doesn't smell sickly sweet. I'll check my coolant level when I get home

today i worked on the power steering pump, what a pain, looked straight forward to me, not really any issues installing the new pump at 231K miles, but the high pressure line is leaking out the center of the 18mm nut, damn! ok, tried to seal the shaft pipe with an o-ring, but no luck. looks like i'll be getting a new pressure line. O1V6 20 year owner.

Got interior stripped mostly, got a lot of cleaning to do, then put it back together. Car has been sitting for 6 years with a leaking sunroof drain

Update: It finally rained, and wow. It's really friggin' bad.

Please don't tell me that I'm gonna have to have the headliner dropped to fix it.

...Please don't tell me that I'm gonna have to have the headliner dropped to fix it.
I really suspect that you will. You don't have to get it all the way down and removed from the car, just down a few inches.

Drove it to Jersey and back for what's become it's monthly outing, about 25 miles. Took Mr. White, our '95 Escort, for the same outing. Mr. White received 14x6 wheels and Tiger Paws that are 2 sizes wider than stock last year last year and lost 1/4" of LR fender flange to stop it from rubbing. Both are fine handling cars.

Be-Be got her annual Fathers day wash & wax plus got the second L glued back on the tail light for the second time. I'm amazed I haven't lost that letter yet.

Missed another 1000 mile photo by one mile, whoops. And that might be the last 1000 miles that she travels, because the notorious Death Rattle is getting worse and I'm not putting another $2000 into this car when I've already gone through $4000 in the first 10 months and 8000 miles of ownership. I love this car, but I just can't stomach putting more money into it.

Well, status update time! Not that anyone cares...lol. I got what can be considered a bit of a windfall, so the LS is currently at the shop getting inspected to see if they can figure out what my suspiciously sounding like death rattle is

Well, I got her back from the shop I took her to, which claims it is a power steering pump. Even though it's more more a grind than a whine, I can totally see the gears eating themselves out since the car was run low on power steering fluid when the rack basically shattered on me. Oh well, $400 fix is better than $2000+ fix

got the wrong steering wheel wrap, not sure if they even sell some for the ls but got it on ebay and it was wayy different so halfway in the job I just said aight ima just rip everything off lol looks funny going to sand and polish it

Went to Harry's of Hazelton Friday (wegotused.com)(I know, that's not today). They have 3 1/2 (you'll know the 1/2 when you see it) LS's there. I was hoping to score a moonroof, but the one there has the same issue that ours has, it wasn't closed all the way. I guess that is an issue with the 2000 moonroofs. So I came home with 3 sun visor clips since they crumble easy (I had to come home with something, it's a 5 hour round trip).

How come there is no "Junkyard Watch" on this site like the one on the FEOA site?

I drove the 06 LS three hours each way to Lavergne, Tennessees Express n Save and scored some excellent spares today. I enjoy getting on the Interstate and letting it eat! Wished I coulda loaded all of the LSes up and broughtem home. But wasnt much room left to put anything lol. Theres still some good parts to be had if you guys need anything. Here is a pic of what I pulled minus the wheel n tire i picked up as a spare.

Hi Buckie,

I see easily broken, hard to find slash shields/inner fenders, a license plate bracket (a hard to find item in PA, since we don't have front plates, everyone takes them off and tosses them), a hard to find front bumper cover from a LSE/'06 (no lights?), an engine cover, and is that a grill from a black LSE? And how did you get that bumper cover in a LS? For big part like that I use our Escort wagon.

Hello MarkEricRoth. Let me tell you getting that bumper cover in the car wasnt easy. Took a little bit of maneuvering it around. I had to lay the back seats down and kinda let it curl up between both front seats. And the lights they were in decent shape, but ive got a brand new set already. Also that's a good eye you got cause that grill, the back license plate holder , the rear wing spoiler and the shift knob an trunk/gas cap release buttons all came off of a Black LSE. They had 5 LSes total I just wish Id had more room or it wasnt a 3 hour drive from where I live Id have gotten alot more parts.

Drove it to 120k miles! Not bad for a timing chain clackin', flooded, blown suspension, 2-3 hard shiftin' LS!

Went on another online spending spree, though not as big as the one I went on in December. I bought a pair of rear lower control arms and shifter seals from Jaguar.oempartsonline.com, a set of clutch screws, and a hydraulic hose/tube (so I will now have all the parts for a clutch job) and a set of isolators from Terry's Jaguar, and a pair of pedal pads and, get this, a single cup holder (manual guys will understand) from, not a salvage yard, but of all places, Ford Parts Giant! The cup holder has a couple minus's its not a color that any 2000 interior had (midnight black) and I had to pay a $10 antique part premium. Is my LS an antique? Anyone out there have antique plate on their LS? I don't, it's the newest car I have. Oh well, it was affordable and I can paint to match. Still on the list are a right side valve cover gasket set, sport springs and shocks. Not to mention a few parts for the Escorts.

Say, LSE_4_LYFE, probably too late now, but Terry's Jaguar has whole shift assemblies for about $560. Maybe the same as LS's.
