Part says discontinued everywhere. 6A636. When I looked it also only says its for the 3.0, are they the same? About to use the old one..

You MIGHT be able to get away with using the old one... but I wouldn't recommend it. Most auto parts stores sell a "bulk" o-ring kit with mutiple sizes,,, in a plastic case. Usually it's a couple hundred o-rings... for $5-$10.

You could probably find one in the kit that is proper size. Just make sure you grease the new one a little,,, to ease installation and to keep it from tearing.

Worst case,,, there are industrial places that sell o-rings, (sometimes by the "piece"). At that point you just need to know the original dimensions of the 0-ring. Might be a .39c part,,, with $5 shipping.

Hope this helps.

It looks like it is not a round o-ring. I wonder if you could peel the gasket off of an oil filter and use that?

Is it the same for the 3.0 & 3.9 though? Because when I checked the part # from the manual it comes up as 3.0.

The part number in the manual is just the base part number. That same base number could come up for almost any Ford/Lincoln with an oil cooler. The complete number is different for the V6 than the V8.

You have the V8 right?
I wonder if Jaguar part JLM21003 would fit? It's shown as fitting the 1st gen S-type V8.
It looks like it is supposed to be included with the new oil cooler.

Of course, I can't vouch for any of it.

To be clear, my point is not that it will fit, only that it might fit.

Nightshade,

If all else fails... try here: O-Rings | Zatkoff

They carry about anything you can think of. You may have to call them and give them the dimensions,,, but I'll bet they have it or can find it.

To get the proper dimensions... the BEST way would be to use "dial calipers", if you know how to read them. If not... find a buddy that has them and the knowledge.

So my oil cooler arrived from Tasca and of course it came with the gasket already on it. Thats what reading the manual gets you lol.

Ford dealer did not have the part in the system anymore and said the same thing possibly.

Its such a confined space and today finally being over freezing I was able to get a better look. I isolated the leak to the upper hose. Mind you its brand new from Tasca. When I went to get a better look at the hose I accidentally was able to SPIN the hose and clamp. So it seems my issue was a defective clamp from Tasca. Under pressure it eventually leaked. Went to home depot and got a 50 cent hose clamp..

To be fair, the Jaguar parts drawings are clear on this

of course they are... Jaguar being British knows darn well that everything on the car is going to break down and need constant repair, so they spend the extra time to make sure that all parts manuals and drawings are as accurate as possible, they down want their dealer techs spending all they time trying to decipher what they do and don't need!

for me its a 50/50 thing... I think the biggest problem with the LS is that it was the first time in a while that Lincoln's sport car and the T-bird were not designed/built around a mustang.

however, if it wasn't a European design, I highly doubt that it would be so well balanced and handle as well as it does.

sure if they had given it the blown 4.2L as an option, it would have been a lot closer to what I want, but had it came with a 4V mod motor and a Tremec it would have been perfect!

I see bits and pieces of the LS platform influence in the recent versions of the Mustang and Fusion. The platfom the LS was built on... is pretty much what Jag uses for most/all of their vehicles.
