Just wondering out load here to see if anyone looked into what can be done with that base to make it functional. I have a couple of CB's laying around and wonder if the base is modulated for a specific cell frequency or straight up co ax direct?

Speaking in general, and not specific to the Mark, those thru-the-glass antennas are capacitively coupled. They would have been optimized for AMPS cellular, so 800 to 900 MHz. CB is around 27 MHz. That's a pretty big difference.

Thanks joegr for the info. looking into it more seams there is no hole into threw the glass. If that's the case, then converting that spot to a CB base is moot. It also looks like the cable may not be RG58U. Oh well...

Yes, no hole, capacitively coupled through the glass.
