Nuts on backwards - Door panel trim

Am I crazy, or are all the nuts on this part put in upside down? That is, the hex of the nut is under the pin, instead of on top of the pin, so that a socket or wrench can't be put on it?

It is item 2 in the graphic, if it is allowed in the post. Or as a description, the plastic trim (finish panel) which runs horizontally on the top of the interior door panel, with the JBL speaker grill if so equipped.

Is there a special bit that fits this? A hex with a hole in it to allow the post to protrude into the bit?

Any comments would be appreciated.

You will need one of these - 6 mm (7 mm on the other side, use the outer shape of 6 mm end)
