Thinking about making the first LS coupe. Should I go for it?

But then he'd occasionally be looking at the rear of a CTS-V coupe

not as often as every car in the other lane will be...

still a hundred times better than looking at piles of parts and a cut up car years from now would be

Ok guys thanks for all of your input. It seems that most people here don't think it's a good idea, so I'm just going to scrap the idea. I will call them up tomorrow and have them scrap the idea.

BUT I still want to put a monster engine in it. Again, money is not an issue.

Suggestions on what to put in there?

LS9... or twin snail 7.0 LSX...

anything else would just be wasting your time...

You won't be able to register it in The People's Republik of Kalifornia. Check the emission laws.....

Someone who needed the approval of a online forum to do something like this, never had the balls to do it in the first place!!!! Thanks for getting my hopes up.

Hey guys. Well it looks like my dream wont be coming to fruition. I had a long talk earlier yesterday with the people that were going to be making me a coupe and swapping out the engine. They both said it could be done, but it would take a very long waiting period and frankly I don't have the time nor patience to wait the time estimate they gave me. So I've decided (and it kills me to do this) that I am going to move on from my dream and buy another car that is already a coupe with a monster engine. So I've decided to get this car. A 2016 Mercedes Benz AMG GT coupe. I feel this is a good choice. My girlfriend thinks so as well. I talked to the dealer and he said come on down and we can work out a nice deal. Me being only 22, I think this car suits me best right now. Sorry everyone for wasting your time and I hope you all continue to keep your LS's looking nice!

so your choices of cars to get were either a decade old LS or a brand new AMG?

also whats the name of the shop going to do the work, Im interested in something similar, and I do have the spare time!...

Thanks, look forward to seeing/ hearing more about the AMG!

Thank you. I've wanted a LS coupe bad and I now have the funds to go through with it.

I'm going to put the same LS1 engine in it. The same set up as that guys LSX.

Not even close!! It looks nothing like the LS.

Hey, if West Coast Customs can do it with the previous generation Charger (their modern General Lee), I say go for it, but they didn't shorten the wheelbase:

if memory serves me right (and it may not, so take this for what it is worth), dimensionally the 5.0 supercharged motor from the new XF will fit right in there as i think the blocks and heads are milled to the same external dimensions as the 3.9; it's the internals that are different, and, ECU with the harness wiring that may be "time consuming" at best, or induce murderous intent at worst , but this would be a couple weeks project for a shop instead of a 6 month or more body project as you initially were inquiring about...this is actually something I want to do with my LS...I'm keeping it because it's been long paid for (we've owned it over 9 years now), and I have done a TON of cooling system repair work to and want to get my $$$'s worth out of it before either deciding to move on, OR, at my wife's suggestion, doing the aforementioned project (which would still be cheaper than a new car, and faster than most anything at the same cost as the project)...my issue is patience as well...

Sup guys. I placed 2nd in a big buy-in poker tournament in vegas awhile back,

A 2016 Mercedes Benz AMG GT coupe.... Me being only 22,

OP's new car: US $154,900.00 (BIN)

I'm no financial expert but I do hope you won at least 3 times the value of the car. Otherwise, you're pointing yourself towards the fate of so many lottery winners that went bankrupt within 5 years. Or be an heir to a wealthy family business. I'd probably look at a house, large garage, and modest $50,000 car first.

Well he certainly doesn't type like most of the old people on here. Good news though, he doesn't type like jrand either...
