I was fishing around on fleabay this morning and stumbled across this work of wonderment. Needless to say, I am very impressed, and would kill for just five minutes behind the wheel to see how it all comes together. Moreover, I'd love to know who put it together to maybe get some insight into the build. Not that I have a '55 Bird ready for transplant, or that I would even pull the heart out of my Mark to make it happen, but just curious you know.

That's impressive. But why roll-up windows? And why did they do away with the original EATC for a manual control panel?

Back in1960 I shoved a 430 cu inch Lincoln engine into a 57 Bird, and then put a Paxton Super Charger on it along with a B&M transmission. It was a light Blue Color with the Port Hole windows. It was something that a local paid for to be done. I was the one that did all the grunt work on the car. It was quiet a challenge and learning experience.

Always loved the Bird's, but never owned one.
