What did you do to your LS today?

Thats some low miles for a 00. Nice

One of the main reasons I bought it was the low miles. The first owner drove low miles and the second owner drove even lower miles. WOOHOO!

Just in a hurry? With what, the Jaws of Life? Was it installed by a fire truck?

Lol...would be easy to screw that up though...it's tight, you can't see, and well, most people working at jiffy pit are one step away from "ding fries are done"

New degas, jag metal housing, thermostat. Replaced one coil and plug. It's all I had time for. So I replaced the one that was misfiring. I'll be replacing the other 7 next weekend.

Any thoughts on leaving the back bottom bolts off of the covers? I dont think it would hurt anything.

Get yourself a little gear wrench. I have one that is 7mm and 8mm. Flip it over to loosen and flip it back to tighten. Use fingers to get it as far as you can then use the wrench to secure it.

Canada from what I've read. Not too many customer reviews. Also looking at power stop pads and rotors

That's certainly what they are trying to imply. At those prices, I don't think that's going to be the case though. Probably is China.

drilled rotors are useless other than the appearance factor - kind of like stickers - they don't make you go/stop any faster. You can get a 4 corner rotor and ceramic pad kit from rock auto for cheaper ($142), and I'll attest the powerstop kits they sell are good stuff - just put a set on momma's van last weekend.

Took a shot at resealing the headlamps, decided to take out the amber lenses while I was in there. Everything was going good till *snap* I broke the interior bezel.
Luckily a little bit of superglue seemed to clear that up. Overall looks good, will replace the bezel when I see one at a decent price...probably do some angel eyes then as well. Hopefully I got it sealed for now though!

00 LS V8 Sport here. I have the gray sealant. So I am waiting to see if I really want to do the angel eye mod before I pull them apart to reseal them. The lenses only get foggy when it rains or when I wash it. Only lasts a couple of days. But I want to wait and do everything all at once so I don't have to pull them apart again. I've been looking for the clear turn lenses but have been unsuccessful in finding them outside of the entire light assembly.

I used R1 concepts slotted rotors I got off ebay, when you look on their site it did not show them, but when I called the guy was cool and told me where to find them on their ebay store for the 4 rotors as they were cheaper there. I used Akebono pads, so far love them, they have been on about 6 months, very quiet, low dust.

Here is the link without pads;

Has anybody ever used these? Reliability, brake dust, do they fit?

Pulling apart the grey sealant ones was so easy I wouldnt' mind taking them back apart to pop in some angel eyes. Mostly I just didn't want water inside the lens ruining it.

Yup yup, that setup works good for me as well, 'cept my R1's are slotted and drilled. (they didn't have stickers, so!)

Been off line for a bit due to system crash (XP didn't like AVG 2015 update), new puter ... Acer with lots of RAM.

Past Wednesday had the LS out for a spin (good weather, clean roads) and was able to get it in at the local tire shop, had the front OEM Sport shocks installed and a four wheel alignment. Will eventually have to get the front camber kit to have it dialed in perfectly, it's border line within spec on the Eibach's. No abnormal wear on tires from what I can see.

~ back in hibernation, still no car cover (dear Santa!)

Our family Matriarch was called home 2 days after Thanksgiving. She was 102. We had to drive 300 miles to Waycross, GA. for the service. The LS needed an oil change after running over 15000k miles on Mobile 1 0w20 Extended Service. I didn't have time to do it before the trip. The funeral was on Saturday at 1100 and we left St. Pete about 2215 Friday. Filled up with Sam's Club 93 octane and computer showed range of 325 miles.

When we arrived, I saw this.

We started back on Saturday about 2300. I filled up with 93 octane from Kroger. The range showed 375 miles. We got home at about 0545 on Sunday and then I saw this.

I would say that's pretty good for cruising 75-80mph on $76 coils and NGK V Power copper plugs. I noticed going above 2500rpm reduces mpg by quite a bit. Almost 100 miles of the trip(the beginning) was on route US 441 at 55-65mph where at one time I saw 27.8mpg.

I would say my LS is in pretty good working order.

Last night, I did the oil change. The drop oil was about 16500k miles old. It was black but slick as can be. There was no sign of particles, coolant, or debris. Some got dropped on the concrete and needed to be cleaned away. It washed away clean with the hose. Mobil 1 0w20 Extended Performance 6qts. Once again I went with the Wix filter.

Later on, I changed wiper blades. Peak Hybrid.

Can somebody tell me how some people on here say they partially fill the filter with oil before installing it?

Never heard of anyone filling it but I always put a little oil on the gasket to make it easier to remove next time.

I fill the filter as much as I can before installation. Gotta be quick spinning it so it doesn't drip. It helps prevent a dry start before the oil pressure builds. I don't recall seing the oil light stay on the short time after the change since I started doing this. I think I say it on the Goss' Garage segment of Motorweek. Then again it may have been the old Shadetree Mechanic show......

Putting oil on the gasket should keep it from sticking to the mounting surface.
