Mark viii coil spring.jpgHere is a picture of my rear spring, I know I will be cutting the coil side that is up but I can't see where cutting 1 coil is going to make that big of a difference - am I wrong?

Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot does this picture keep loading on its side?! I give up

Better to take small cuts and work down to where you like it then cut to much off and bury car.

Well I was torn on going between 1-1.25 but I think I am going to start at 1.5 coils for sure. I have cut a lot of springs in my time and that usually seems to be about where I end up. .. except for my 72 Cadillac - she was a solid 2 coils and still drove like a smooth Cadillac.

If I had it to do over I would have only cut half a coil.I cut one whole coil and I think it was too much. You can always cut it again,I cant

I started at 1.25 coils on the rears and as I was working on my spring compressors all I could think about were the stories I heard on LVC and decided I would wait until tomorrow when I can take it somewhere and have them removed. Since I will not be taking the fronts off again I will be taking 1.5 off. On a side note, I have a good set of Arnott front air bags I can sell :)

I ended up taking 1.5 off the front and 1.25 off the rear:
