After hours modifying the rims to fit on the car due to my brake caliper rubbing on them I was able to fit some 20"s on my mark 8, my main problem now is tires...the one I have on the rims are 235/40/20rim size tires on it right now which are pretty much completely bald, was wondering if anyone would know what bigger sizes I could get away with while avoiding damage to the drive train, my mechanic had warned me not to get too big of tires or could cause damage so slightly worried

Are you lowered?

Any bigger/heavier wheel/tire combination is going to add extra stress to the suspension. I wouldn't really worry about the added stress on the drivetrain unless you drive it like a race car.

how well does the 235 40 20 tires fit? They are 3/4 of an inch taller than stock 225 60 16, which isn't much. If they don't rub when turning or have a car load and hit a bump, then that is a reasonable size. 245 35 20 is probably the closest you can come to OEM diameter, they are only 1/8 inch taller than stock.

What width rims are they? There seems to be a good selection of 245 35 20 tires, from cheap to uber expensive. 235 40 20 I see very few options.

These are the rim, dont have the car lowered...bad news...air pump died on my airride however just my luck a few days ago...it seems to run for a minute than starts stuttering and dies...for now at least I can just keep it off and turn on once a week, Im wondering if I can even get coil springs now with these on there?

Tires rub on back slightly when I hit a pot hole or a large bump, but nothing major, while turning no issues at all period do got an issue where car starts wobbling between 60-65mph when letting off the gas, I think its either because the caliper is still rubbing slightly or wheel needs to be balanced, main problem I had with these is my right brake caliper rubbing on the inside part of the rim, at first it was bad, sanded it down and it got better but still rubs once and a while, hoping its not damaging my caliper, mechanic told me the cast iron on aluminum will just wear the aluminum down over time, my buddies mark 8 had no issues at all with them

Yeah you can run a coil conversion without issue.

Your vibration at 65 is typical. These cars are very sensitive to vibration/wheel balance etc. Your alignment theoretically would change a little too with a different size wheel and that might be effecting it also.
