LS 2003 3.0, valve cover gaskets R&R.

Lots of great info on this site, thanks to all of you for making this easier! I’ve used many threads, this has been the best:
http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/fo...en2-V6-Coil-Plug-Gasket-IMT-valve-replacement

Lower IMT was leaking oil. I did IMT O-rings, pcv and tube, upper intake manifold gaskets and new COPs and plugs. Found oil on plugs 2 & 3. I’m about to lift the valve covers off to R&R the gaskets with VICTOR REINZ VS50413

I’m very confused about the half rounds on the rear side of the valves that the cover gasket runs across when reinstalled. No one ever mentions these half rounds, should they just be cleaned up on the top surface and left alone?? half round.jpg

And then I found this!

Looks like these half rounds should be removed and then reset with Ultra Black? If so, what is a safe way to pull them out and reset them??

Permatex 82180 Ultra Black is among the best Oil Sealant you can get your hands on. I sell a ton of it at the store. I can't say much about Victor Reinz Gaskets I'd go with Fel-Pro. I've sold them for years and had no trouble with them yet.

I used a pick set I purchased @ Harbor Freight for $2. Nice set 6 picks in set I think. I have 2 sets.
