What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Where did you find them, if you don't mind me asking? Mine clunks going into reverse only. I've done the tranny mount already (Energy Suspension) and I'm pretty certain it's something to do with that. I haven't checked mine yet though.
justr on ebay where i looked, couldnt find them on rock auto. i havent ordered any yet. still shopping around

Read up on using poly in that position, it usually doesn't hold up.
thanks i will i wont use them if their likely to fail.

Just found out while bleeding the brakes on the '95 that I need a rear upper control arm to knuckle bushing on the driver side. Passenger side seems okay. There is a whole lotta play in that bushing. :( That's apparently where the rattle was coming from that I could never find. Good thing is the ones on the '97 are in almost perfect condition. So I will probably be doing a swap this weekend. Yay.

Washed it again including the undercarriage due to the unexpected snow on Monday. Salt is once again gone...

Hopefully for good.

Swapped out my front side amber marker light bulbs to some LED 5 panels

I'd be surprised if it's not the one at the frame, rather than the knuckle. I thought the same thing on a friend's car. While the bushing at the knuckle was due to be replaced. The one at the frame was MUCH worse...

I got my part today! And I learned something new about my car apparently it has been painted in spots

I will check the frame bushing this weekend. But there is a tremendous amount of play in the knuckle bushing. I could actually see it moving when I had the car jacked up and I was moving the wheel back and forth.

You mean like this? I just checked mine last weekend. It's the frame bushing, not the knuckle. I'm doing both anyway, on both sides.

I don't see the bracket in that pic, looks like the wrong one

Part # 4-1104G is what you want

This link works for the correct Part #, I went and looked at your "Hey Guys" thread, don't know why that link isnt for the part I looked up. You can totally blame me, my bad bro.

Summit is renown for their customer care, I'm sure it shouldn't be an issue to return and get the proper one, just make sure you get the kit with the bracket in it. The link doesn't specify if its included or not

Hmmmmmm...I'll have to take another look this afternoon and post a vid. It looked like the knickle bushing to me but I could be wrong (there's a first time for everything :D).

No biggie, I appreciate the help figuring out which part it even is, they are too lazy to tell me here.

So do I still keep the part they shipped me and just order the bracket Part # 4-1104G? Or is that part # both together and I am unable to order it separately, which means I have to return and order that together?

Return the one you received, and order # 4-1104G With Bracket. There is an option to get it with/ or without the bracket, its a $10 difference, but you Need the Bracket

A $10 difference? do I have to ask for it extra? This is the original you linked me in my topic, and the is the one you just said that looks like it comes with it, they call it an insert, it's a $5 difference.

$32.97 http://m.summitracing.com/parts/ptp-6-1604-bl

Sorry about being anal just trying to be 100% sure

4-1104G with Bracket/Insert

Make sure you lube the little rubber part that touches that insert, or it'll squeek on very smooth roads

Yeah, my kit did NOT come with the lube and the instructions didn't mention using lube. I bought mine from Summit.

Dielectric grease is pretty much the same stuff. I have never had the trans mounts squeak without any but I guess it is possible.

Repositioned my amps and sat the sub farther back in the trunk
IMG_20140417_154203172.jpg

Looks kinda wicked with the trunk lights off, each amp has a red square On light, looks like 2 red eyes staring out from the darkness

Now I wish I still had that black plastic piece that hides the rear of the seat, would be a perfect look to trim it out so just the face of the amps could be seen. I'm sure I'll find another one, one day

I'm gonna park/store/repair/sell? the Brown Car, I started driving the White Car again; first time in about 7 months; 1.5" lowered, stock exhaust- so it's quiet, except for some squeaking 'on smooth roads' as well as a hollow sort of clanking yet to be id'd.
----
it has an Addco 1.125" rear antisway bar and red prothane bushings. I DID apply some grease inside those when it was installed, but maybe not enough?
----
can I add more to it now? I kinda think something(s) in the trunk might be making noise while driving, the liner is kinda deformed and not firmly attached
