hello fellas, i need your expertise on a good sounding muffler for my 97 mark. i want a smooth but agressive sound. i was thinking of either a flowmaster, borla, or magnaflow muffler. which do you suggest will give me that & a good place to order a set from at a good price? thanx

since you own a mark 8, we can assume you're on a tight budget? i recently got two MF XL's with tips off the auction site for about $80 shipped; are you gonna re-do the factory exh to true duals? that's the 'right' way to mod the exh imo; if so, add an x-pipe at mid body- that will balance it out nicely; the flowmaster 40's can be loud/raspy...their 50 series is more mellow; you could try Full Boar mufflers to save a few dollars..ss mufflers, less money with no big name

Are you just looking to replace the rear mufflers, or re-work the entire exhaust system? The system in the video below on my blown 4V consists of Kooks 1.75"/3" headers, 3” downtubes with Magnaflow SS cats, Magnaflow p/n 14468 muffler mounted mid-body, and 3” tailpipes. I'd put it in the "aggressive without being obnoxious" category.

Not the greatest video quality, but this is what it sounds like inside the car:
