I just swapped out all the lights inside my ls, it's a Gen 2. And now, the front dome lamp assembly is not goin back in, checked and no clips are broken. It's just the back end as well. Pictures below, any info/tips help! Thank you!

I wish I could help. But I am curious as to what you switched them to.

I found a ton of red bulbs exactly like the OEM ones but well, red! So it was totally free to me! It's nothing like LEDs but it works for now!
Here's a pic in my garage

Looks nicer in person but I'm probably ordering blue LEDs very very soon here. Not bright enough for me and I think blue is a nicer colour

Bottom pic is the latch for the sunglasses holder. Did you try inserting the back end in first, then snapping in the front?

Yes, it's does not want to grab on anything. I see there is a white "ring" that goes around the assembly that everything clips onto, and it seems like tag gets pushed up when I try to clip it.

You didn't do the switches right? Just the map and dome lights? I'm planning on changing all switches and buttons to red.

Yes, it's very difficult to get the light to push into it. I have the moon roof, so I was able to open that and get a big screwdriver in from above to hold the plastic ring down while I pushed the light up. I don't know how to do it without a moon roof. You may have to glue the plastic ring back down to the headliner first.

See if this helps..... Look at headliner.

There seems to be nothing about Dome lights in that manual unless I'm really missing something.

Okay! I'll go and try that!

Got it!!! Super glued the plastic piece down to headliner and clamped it together. Let dry for 5 mins and popes it back on good as new! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1390668814.691982.jpg

Thank you for your help guys!!
