The Shuttle stopped in Houston on it's way to Los Angeles today. I decided to to go see this once in a lifetime event.

Cool :cool: that 747 was modified right here at the boeing mod center in Wichita. the last time I saw it here was back in 1989. I worked for boeing from 1988 till my layoff in 2005. Thanks Bush jr. may you rot in hell you basturd.

Me and about 5000 others were at JPL in Pasadena as the shuttle went over.
Many, including myself expressed disappointment because it was so high.
At other places it flew very low, but because of the mountains surrounding JPL, I guess it had to be that high.
I was able to snap these two pictures.

Bob.

Sorry to say, it's flying days are over.
It is presently in a hanger at LAX, where later it will be placed on a flatbed and hauled through the city streets to it's new home at the California museum of science.
That in itself will be something to see.
They are currently preparing the streets for it's journey.
They are removing many tress and electrical wires on the streets it will travel.
The wing span is 78 feet, and that requires that trees in the way must go, and wires either removed, or raised significantly.
It is going to be moved sometime in mid October.
Bob.
