I just found a 03 Jaguar S-type on ebay and it is manual. I mean yes it is a V6 but I never knew that Jaguar sold manual S-types in U.S.

Here is the link and some pictures.

Not bad, I'd definately drive it. I had no idea they made them in stick either. Good find!

It's in real nice condition, I would drive it too. It has only 25,xxx miles on it. Fresh.

Maybe our resident Jag expert, ohioLS aka Scott, will confirm this.

Good morning,

Yes I am the resident Jaguar expert, the S-Type is a beautiful car with awesome lines and curves. A S-Type R would be the real catch of the day. Well with a little research I found this article. I personally have never seen one with a stick but I was aware of it. I think 03 or 04 was the last year this was offered. Believe me it would be nice, but if you want anything Jaguar buy something from their R-Performace group, http://www.jaguar.com/us/en/vehicle...nce_Overview_overview@__link__InfoBlockLink_6

The rear wheel drive S-Type is currently produced (as of model year 2003) with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed J-Gate transmission that allows automatic gear selection or clutchless manual gear selection. From model years 2000 to 2002, the S-Type was equipped with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed J-Gate transmission.

The vehicle is powered by a variety of petrol engines (Jaguar intends to introduce a diesel model in the future). The 2.5 L engine is not available for vehicles exported to the United States and Canada.

Enjoy the info!

I just went out and priced my new one out..... It will only set me back $64,495.00!!

Yeah I never said they where cheap! HAHA But honestly have you ever driven one? Then you should, I personally have test drove the XJR and XKR and I had to change my pants afterwards. Also if you think Lincoln has a decent fit and finish on interior (which they do) just go to a dealer and sit in one you will not fine a better interior in any car out there and I guarntee that! Jags are impressive and with Ford owning them they have defently made a awesome comeback in the luxury auto market. My next ride is either a 06 LSE or 04-06 British Racing Green XJR w/ biscuit interior!

Actually, Jaguar has already added a diesel S-Type. For the low, low price of £28,895/£30,245 ($50,567/$52,929) manual/auto, you too can own an S-Type with a 2.7L diesel mill.

Too bad it's not Federalized so you'd be able to drive it here... ;)

Jeremy Clarkson actually got one around the Nürburgring in under 10 minutes (after several days of trying) on Top Gear ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/series_5/prog_5/ ). Then his "track coach" (a lady who's from the track and whose name escapes me) took it out once and beat his best time rather soundly...

And the S-Type and LS share the same chassis. As well as some other stuff.

The Escort wasn't on DEW-98, only the '00-'05 T-Bird, the LS, and the S-Type (that was a part of the platform's downfall). The new XJ is on an evolution of the DEW-98 platform, but it's not the same. The new Mustang was originally to be built on a modified DEW-98, but the only thing they actually used was a part of the floorpan. (The Mustang is on its own platform.)

If you're talking about the '89-'97 T-bird, its only platform-mates were the Cougar and Mark VIII.

RIGHT Sooner if you would read my first reply it says in (as of the 2003 model year). I pulled those 2 paragraphs from a auto webpage. Who would want a diesel Jaguar anyway!?

Sorry; it wasn't marked as a quote.

Apparently, someone wants a diesel Jag, as they make four models of diesel S-types. BTW, in case it wasn't clear, the S-Type that Clarkson took around the track was a diesel.
