I got rid of the 2002 LS and have some new generic parts leftover that never made it onto the car. 1. rear struts without the coils. 2. Right upper control arm 3. Inner tierods with boots. I’ll start by doing the easiest thing, offering the whole box for sale for $100 local pickup. Cincinnati...

Electric systems died while driving. Won’t start.

I had time to jump it today. No problem there. Disconnected jump vehicle and measured volts at battery going down to 11. I added load with lights, fan and radio, and watched it dive to close to10 while almost stalling. Pretty sure it’s alternator. I’ll check connections first hoping for an easy fix.

Electric systems died while driving. Won’t start.

I was almost home when the ABS light came on, A few seconds later the Advance Trac light was on. Then the radio shut down followed by the rear defroster. The car was driving ok. When I pulled into the driveway I shut it down, and now it won’t start. The only test I had time to do was check the...

What did you do to your LS today?

I replaced the fuel filter. It had been accelerating slowly, and having trouble making it up hills. No engine codes, and no sputtering like an ignition coil. It was super easy to change. Took about an hour from wheel off to wheel on. Problem solved. Techron was BOGO at Advanced Autoparts today...

What did you do to your LS today?

I replaced the front shocks. I bought a full set of 4 SenSen brand from ebay for about $200. A local mechanic swapped the springs for $25. The car feels attached to the road now, instead of floating around above it. Can’t wait to put on the rears next week.

Who needs parts and what do you need

A closer look at my interior shows that the vents are closer to gray, while the the leather is tan.

Who needs parts and what do you need

Don't go out of your way, but I have a gen 1 missing the triangle shaped vents that are on dash which blow onto the windows. My interior is "medium parchment", which is tan.

Hard shifting & delayed engagement LS

I had a Chrysler make thuds when shifting because the engine mounts were broken and the engine was moving around in the engine bay. You can have someone observe the engine doing this, looking for engine movement while putting in gear, and also while in gear gently rev the engine a little while...

What did you do to your LS today?

Thanks to the Owners Guide thread here, I have been using that trick for a while. I am disappointed that the wife's new MKZ does not have the same feature.

What did you do to your LS today?

I layed one of the rear seats flat and stuck a full size rake in the trunk. I just noticed a few weeks ago the pull tabs in the trunk that permit this to be done, and it sure was handy.

What did you do to your LS today?

Not really what I did "to" but what I did "with" my LS. I drove it 60 miles from home and back and it is running really well. All of the wrenching is paying off , but I did pack lots of my tools, and some pre-mix coolant just in case.

    Finally got an LS.

Welcome. Sounds familiar. I had to fix the A/C on mine first thing. I got rid of the front end popping and creaking by replacing the upper control arms. The visual inspection of the joints showed that was probably my issue.
