Anyone want to head down? I'll be there and my buddy who bought my Mark will be taking the car on it's first 1/4 miles runs.

Any predictiones for the Mark? Canned tune, 4.10s, 3500 stall and stock size tires.

My prediction is that you won't get to run because two Hondas will have sprayed oil down the whole track. :D

Hey guys! Thanks for the predictions. I'll update the thread with the timeslips when I get back. We'll see who's closest! :D I posted my prediction on another board a few days ago... 14.6 @ 95. Compared the best 15.37 @ 92.67 I did in the silver car (bone stock except glasspacks welded to factory tips).

OK. The numbers are in!!! :D

Run 1: Just came off the highway, no cool down time. Someone must have spilled something on the track because the car in front of me went sideways on takeoff. I did NOT do a burnout on this run. The back started stepping out on me on launch (massive wheelspin) but it was easily corrected. Density altitude: 420ft

r/t: .278
60': 2.619 (massive wheelspin)
330: 6.785
1/8: 10.098
mph: 33.08 (not a typo, but I know it's wrong)
1000: 12.963

1/4 mile: 15.391
MPH: 91.18

Run 2: Plenty of cool down time. Temperatures rising. Small burnout. The car hooked VERY well on this run, no wheelspin. The car shifted from 2nd, to the 3rd, back to 2nd!!! and then into 3rd on this run.
Density altitude: 653ft

r/t: .115
60': 2.039
330: 5.970
1/8: 9.232
mph: 75.03
1000: 12.072

1/4 mile: 14.464
MPH: 93.99

Run 3: Plenty of cool down time. Getting hot now. Small burnout. The hooked just as well as the previous run. AGAIN, the car shifted from 2-3-2-3...
Density altitude: 1000ft

r/t: .182
60': 2.106
330: 6.011
1/8: 9.254
mph: 75.47
1000: 12.072

1/4 mile: 14.441
MPH: 94.85

Run 4: Last run. VERY hot but sat nearly 3 hours since previous run. This time I shifted manually from 2nd to 3rd and it behaved itself. :D This was my best run of the day!
Density altitude: 1138ft

r/t: .122
60': 2.133
330: 6.052
1/8: 9.281
mph: 76.43
1000: 12.046

1/4 mile: 14.397 (personal best!!!)
MPH: 95.92 (personal best!!!)

All in all, I had great time. Nice seeing you Rich!!!

@98LSC32V: the altitude corrected time for my best run is 14.227 @ 97.074 mph. Great guess!
@NYC LS8: There were two Civics (both with drag radials on the front) in the test 'n' tune lane, LOL

Other cars I was lined up with:

2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG... stock w/ drag radials: ran 11.761 @ 121.37 (run 1)
87-93 Ford Mustang GT 5.0... unknown mods: 14.927 @ 98.02 (run 2)
04-07 Saturn ION Redline... intake, pulley, tune: 14.556 @ 97.83 (run 3)
same ION Redline: 15.516 @ 93.93 (run 4)

What are your mods?

Yes sir! The only thing not listed above is the Dynotech driveshaft and Focus SVT pump. Everything else is stock.

Nice runs. The car definitely has more in it, if you pulled a nice low 2.0 60 foot time with no transmission issues you should be low 14's easily.

@driller: Rich & I agreed it's in the tune... need to revise the WOT shift points. Only just discovered it at the track because I've never done a full throttle 2-3 shift in this car on the street.

@98LSC32V: Thanks!!

Oh and the race weight was 3,946 lbs...

Cool, sounds like fun! I won't know until Wednesday/Thursday if I can make it down, but I'll keep this thread updated. I take it you're going to be there, correct? Know if anybody else is going? Rain date? I couldn't find any other info other than it's at Cecil County Dragway, this Saturday May 19th.

I was surprised how well the car hooked with the stock size 225/60s on it. I think it has 14.2s in it as it sits. Brian didn't spin except for the first pass and def has more in the 60' as well as some trans tuning to do.

I'm sure it's the tune. It did the same thing on the 1-2 shift when I first put the 4.10s in it. Lonnie@BOC emailed me a new tune which fixed that but since I never had it to the track it didn't really have many WOT pulls into 3rd gear.

You're welcome.

We've met? Sorry, I can't place you.

Yup... e-town last year, I believe it was June 15th. You were with Ken (14.6@97mph) who was driving his C5 Corvette at the time. :) I brought the silver car/black top.

I'm thinking the track was treated because what I thought was rubber could easily have been the trackbite.

As soon as I dig out the xcal, I'll look into it, see if I can raise the 2-3 shift point.

edit: I found pictures of that night!!!

You should raise the 1-2 shift higher as well. The program in it now doesn't have the shift points much past stock at all. Doug and others would know better but what I have read on here it will prob help your ETs.

And put some real exhaust on the car!

At this point in time....

0 chance of rain Saturday, high of 74 degrees. ;)

I hope that I didn't just jinx us.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it down tomorrow. I was able to get another 7-8 timeslips on Wednesday, though! I hope you guys have a good time tomorrow, looking forward to hearing how you do.
