Deleted Mufflers
Deleted the stock mufflers not too long ago. Got bored so I made a vid. Enjoy.

He has an LSC so his car came with true dual exhaust, so it will be a little louder than deleting the mufflers on a Mark with single exhaust.

Just hacking off the mufflers on an LSC sounds pretty good. Unfortunately if you have catalytic converters that smell bad under hard accel you will get a lot of that in your car, and that means a lot of exhaust in your car. It will also create a lot of drone... Solution: clamp a set of turndowns on the pipes or install a pair of exhaust tips.

Its really not that loud to me, and doesnt even sound that droany. Ive had a few cars that just were either loud or just horrible sounding... lol so this is almost nothing. Actually when the car goes into fourth I cant even hear it anymore.

There is straight pipe in place of the mufflers that exit out of the stock tips...

Did the same thing to my 1996 Gen1. I cut off the two rear mufflers, left the stock resonator on and replaced the third cat with a "y" pipe. Some day maybe I can afford to go with a ture dual exhaust setup, but for now mine sounds fantastic. I get compliments on the sound everywhere I go and some people have even told me it sounds better than a Mustang GT. Some folks are speechless when I tell them it cost $50 bucks at a muffler shop to have the muffs cut off and new pipes welded in and a couple of hours in the back yard at home to remove the cat and weld in the "y" pipe. They think it sounds like a $500 Borla system or something. As for the drone, it's hardly noticeable under most driving conditions. I also kept the stock oval shaped stainless exhaust tips because I think they look cool. And I had to keep the resonator on so it would pass inspection.

I hacked off the mufflers on my 93 (RIP) and did the same to my 96 shortly after getting it, and love it-get lots of comments on it too.
