Mike, what was the amount you paid for the installation? I am thinking of doing this for my 97.
Also, does anyone have any photos of a Gen1?

GMAN, Vortech's web site says the following regarding a basic supercharger installation. The work done to my Mark goes way beyond the basic Vortech kit.
Keep in mind, Vortech does not make a kit for a Mark VIII. You will have to use a 4v Mustang kit. I suggest you call some of the hot rod performance shops and talk to them about your needs. That is what I did.
As usual, it boils down to how much money do you want to spend?
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...ed%20Questions
"Vortech supercharger systems are designed to fit neatly under the factory hood and they 100% complete, even down to the wire ties. Installations are straight forward with step-by-step, fully illustrated installation instructions. Most Vortech supercharger systems bolt-on with ordinary hand tools in about 7-12 hours with absolutely no fabricating or cutting of body panels. If you wish to have your Vortech system professionally installed, international turn-key installations are available from your nearest Vortech distributor (please call Vortech sales for your nearest authorized Vortech distributor)."

I went to the track last night, and wanted to post the results.
I did a total of 5 runs, and Aric did 3 runs. Traction was a big issue, and the shift points still need work. Aric loaded up a cool program on the xcal2. A totally electronic manual valve body He used it on the last run of the night. This file will turn the Mark into a manual shift car. Leave it in third - and it will stay in third, even leaving from a stop light. I have it on video, it is the last video below.
The best run of the day was a 12.745 @ 108.43. It is the first video below. Here is the slip:
60'.....1.865
330'....5.337
1/8.....8.179
mph.....86.26
1000'..10.660
1/4....12.745
mph....108.43
I am the driver for the first video during the day. The three night videos are with Aric driving the Mark.

Your current setup will blow away any Mustang GT. What about Roush Mustangs? I am pretty sure we can hold a candle to the new GT500.

Yep, I really like the o-stars too. But, I am going to convert to Mustang hubs, and Cobra R Brembo brakes, and they just will not fit. So, I ordered a set of Forgeline 10 1/2" wide rims to fit a set of Toyo 305's in the rear with a sway bar mod to squeeze them inside the wheel well. Might have to roll the quarters too. The brakes, rims, and tires should all arrive by the end of August. Here is a picture of the rims and a link to the site:

That car was supercharged with stock internals as well, but put out a bit more HP to the wheels.

Wow maybye you should read Joes post he had h beams and forged pistons with his t-trim pushing 550rwhp. The stock rods and pistons would take an exit strategy long before the crank decided to self destruct.

Got it second hand info (with pics) on an other site, so I didn't get to read the original post. Using a stock Ford crank with forged pistons and rods makes absolutely no sense at that power level.

Ryan and Aric received the newest addition to the Mark the other day. Reichard Racing Ultra Grip 3.1 Pulley. Should be good for 11-12 PSI. This won't go on the car until just before SSHS7.

With SSHS7 behind me now, and the Mark's new hubs, brakes, rims, and tires being installed in the next few weeks, it is time now to start thinking about fortifying the engine.
The car now has 401rwhp, and 318rwtq, and has run a 12.162 @ 113.42 in the quarter mile. All this on a totally internally stock engine with 107k miles on it with the help of the Vortech supercharger.
It was very tough decision, but I found myself at a crossroad with the Mark. I have decided to keep it in the 400-500rwhp range. I just do not see the point of going any further with the power at this time. Therefore, mostly bottom end stuff is going to be done. Here is a highlight list:
Injected 302 Stroker Kit
Custom Manley Pistons-off set
Manley H-Beam Rods
ARP 2000 Bolts
Total Seal Stainless File Rings
Federal Mogul H Rod & Main Bearings
ARP Main Stud Kit
ARP High Tensile Strength Head Studs (with 12 pt nuts)
Melling High Volume Oil Pump with Billet Gears
Refresh Cylinder Heads
Accufab Single Blade Throttle Body
96-98 Cobra Intake
Aric is going to use one of his Teksid blocks to build the motor, and swap with the motor in the Mark when he is done building the motor.
Here are some links to videos, pictures and info on the build thus far:

Hi Mike,
Being down the built motor road a few times, a few hints.
Not a huge fan of the stroker setup for blower cars, all the kits I have seen, (Modmax, eagle and scat (All made in china in the same place, same as all the H-Beam rods, not a bad thing, but im not a huge fan) the pin location was very high, and I didn't like the ring location, sure its fine for 500whp, but not 800hp+.
The factory mark crank is good for 7000rpms and about 750whp. The cobra version is good for more rpms and power.
Heads and intake
When I 1st saw your car I was reminded of Larry's 98 Mark (Same wheels and color) with one of Dennis's intercooler setups. He had a T-Trim (Not helping him out at 12-13psi vs an S-Trim), Fox Lake heads, factory cams, Air to Air intercooler, and with 12-13psi the car made 531rwhp, with 8.5 to 1 17cc dish pistions and pump gas, with a very conservative tune. I don't remember the exhaust, but it was not the greatest setup, but the heads were really helping him out with that, even with factory cams and a not so good exhaust.
Edit..
Just noticed billet oil pump gears, note on those, they dont make nearly as much oil pressure as regular gears, Had them in another motor it only made 12psi at hot idle with 5w30. at WOT more than 100psi, but normal hot idle is in the mid 20's to 30psi, the motor I have now has the MMR Oilpump with cryo gears, and it works well, plenty of pressure, and I go to 7500rpms with this motor, they have customers that go much higher.

Hi Bill, Glad to see you posting again. It would be great if you could head up to the ATL and be part of SSHS8! You, Joe, Jeremi, Dennis, Daniel, Scott L, Big Scott, et al, were my inspiration when I started to plan my build a couple years ago. Hope you don't mind, but here are some pics I found of your Mark from SSHS2 - back in the day...
Thanks for your input. I always like to hear another point of view, as I am still fluid with this build until I start writing checks. I will pass along your thoughts to Aric, and see what he has to say about it.
