car can't find park

When I shift the car into park, it goes into reverse. Neutral is still neutral but I was having difficulty with sst as well. I had to put the car into neutral to even start it. The last time i drove the car before this issue, it gave me a warning beep but didn't show anything on the computer read out.

Should I just try unhooking the battery for a few minutes?

You could try unhooking the battery for 15 minutes. Press the brakes a few times to ensure that your car is free from elec. after unhooking the batt., then hook it back up and just pray it erases any errors.

That sounds more like a mechanical issue than software.
