    Cars singer Ric Ocasek RIP

Lead singer of the Cars rock group passed away. They made some good music. By coincidence, I'm doing a crossword puzzle in today's local newspaper. I saw this clue: "rocker Ocasek".

What did you do to your LS today?

I signed the bill of sale, removed the plates, cleaned out the glove box and console, watched the car being loaded on the recycler's flatbed, waved good-by, and cancelled my auto insurance. I am no longer an LS owner, but, since I still have a 2003 TBird, I plan to check in occasionally. Good...

Are any dealers honest these days?

The dealer's top sales Manager (reports to the president) called my daughter twice. She didn't return the calls. I did. He wanted to know exactly what happened. I told him. He had no excuse for their screw up. (What could he say?) I didn't call him a thief, but I wanted to. For compensation...

Are any dealers honest these days?

My credit card bill came today. It showed one $500 credit, so the first credit, which my dealer told me they put through, was BS. They lied. They never put the first credit through. How did they think that they were going to get away with outright theft? No wonder this dealership gets a "D"...

    question re parts car

Fortunately, I'm the original owner, so, I still have the original title. (That was the first question the recycler asked me.)

    question re parts car

Just curious, what does a parts car go for $$$? I've been offered only a few hundred dollars for mine from a recycler. I haven't done a whole lot of parts replacing, but it is an original 62K mileage car.

Are any dealers honest these days?

No, most dealers are not honest. I just had an experience with a local Ford dealer. I went with my wife to look at a 2019 Ford Escape that my daughter had seen and liked. We negotiated a price, and I gave them a $500 credit to hold the car for her to finalize the deal on the next day. Sales rep...

For Sale 2001 Lincoln LS V8 3.9L (drives fine, has bumper/trunk damage) $1045 (Yorktown Heights, near NYC)

I'm trading in the Mustang towards a car for my daughter. Getting anything for that car is a plus.

For Sale 2001 Lincoln LS V8 3.9L (drives fine, has bumper/trunk damage) $1045 (Yorktown Heights, near NYC)

I wish you luck, but I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw an LS on the road, and I live in very crowded north Jersey.

For Sale 2001 Lincoln LS V8 3.9L (drives fine, has bumper/trunk damage) $1045 (Yorktown Heights, near NYC)

My LS was never on ebay. The Mustang is a complete disaster, but at least it runs. Local dealer has some kind of trade-in policy whereby they'll give me something for the car as long as I can drive it to them. But, the question remains how does the trade-in factor in with the Ford Z plan...

For Sale 2001 Lincoln LS V8 3.9L (drives fine, has bumper/trunk damage) $1045 (Yorktown Heights, near NYC)

I've been talking to a local recycle guy regarding my 2004 LS that's not running, but has a perfect body. He offered me $300 and he would come and pick it up (Bergen County, NJ). He said there's no demand for LS parts. He also offered me more money for my daughter's POS 2008 Mustang V6...

    gd roof again

In 1994, I bought a new TBird. I sold it in 2012. Never had a roof leak in all those year and 152,000 miles. Had a lot of other stuff go bad. Two trans rebuilds. I once had to drive from northern New Hampshire to NJ with a trans that was slipping in and out of gear. On the way to the dealer...

All you that own 2000 Lincoln LSes ...Next year the car will be considered a classic...

Pretty sure that NJ, and most classic car shows, still use 25 years as the age requirement for classic cars.

05 LS V8 not wanting to coast

Just some suggestions. A bad brake hose can cause the brakes to drag. Happened to my Galaxie. Car would not coast. Driver's side rear brake was dragging. Changed the hose, problem went away. Or, a problem with a wheel cylinder??

    ABS and Traction Control lights

Well, she's pretty much stone dead now. I've been starting her every few days, but as of today, battery must have gone too low, so all she did was "beep/beep/beep". All I want off this car are my 2003 TBird wheels. The dealer can have the rest. I'll probably stick with Ford because 1) the Ford...
