Well here marks the end.
Yesterday I traded Lauren the Lincoln in after two years of service. Opted for a fusion energi titanium for the time being until I graduate college.
Hopefully in the future I’ll get another Lincoln Ls and make it perfect. Until then goodbye.
Mechanic said when he was doing to pressure test on the cooling system when he first started the motor it had too much pressure in the cooling system. Looks like I got the unicorn Lincoln LS with a blown head gasket.
Thanks for all the good information. Ill be doing this once I get her back from the shop who did the cooling system overhaul for me last year, it started loosing more coolant from under the front right tire area.
Sounds like a plan. As far as valve covers go, would I have to replace those too or only if there is oil in any of the plug wells.
I've never worked on cars before but I'm sure I can manage the coils and plugs but the valve covers seem tricky.
So every once in a while when I start my 2004 v8 on a warm start it will shake like crazy and I've either shut it off and restarted which sometimes worked or I would just drive and it'll immediately smooth out, but sometimes it stalls when I put it in drive and try going. It finally displayed a...
Hello
It has been a little over a year since I've done the complete overhaul to my cooling system. I have the parts list below and so the service was done August 2017. A year and two months later (on my birthday October 5th 2018) I am driving home on the highway and i decide to turn on the...
Thanks again for such a quick reply I think I’ll be getting a new battery with my oil change over the weekend. Pads and rotors up next. Also the backup sensors have been working fine today seems to have sorted themselves out :D
sometimes when I start up my 2004 Ls I’m asked to service parking brake. It works fine without hiccups. What I’ve noticed is that after running a bit and it is warm if I shut the engine and turn it back on the prompt doesn’t show up until after letting it sit over night. Could it be that the...
I just had sumitomo htr a/s p02 put on ~3000 miles ago and have had no complaints so far good wet traction... waiting for the NJ snow to test that out. My friend has a honda accord with the same tires on them and they did fantastic in the snow (maybe bc its a fwd car :D)
And on that note now it is definitely shifting terribly and much worse than even before the repair.
Looks for gears when acceleration and very violently shakaking in reverse.
After 10 days of trouble free operation I go to put it in reverse and it shakes like crazy trying to grab the gear eventually it grabs and smooth after that. Happens nearly every time I go into reverse now and I think some of the rough shifting has came back. I’ll be bringing it back to the shop...
Can anyone link me to a set of 20 of the solid lugnuts without a chrome cover that I should replace mine with. Also would I need a new tire iron or would it fit ?
Sounds awfully trivial but I don’t want to get it wrong
731$ later and I have a new solenoid pack. He said the fluid came out quite clean for 74xxx miles and so was the magnet. He said there was no need to rebuild the valve body and that he topped off with Mercon V. He did the filter and gasket and replaced the 8 quarts of mercon v that drained...
If I were to go ahead and do a full fluid and filter exchange with solinoid pack replacement and to also have the valve body rebuilt how much would I be looking at. Wouldn’t want to do everything but rebuild the valve body and have to bring it in again
I think this guy is genuine he said it’s not mechanical. Most likely just the solinoid pack and new fluids he said parts approx 400 and the total service around 700
