Anyone notice the Mark VIII was mentioned on CNN for a flaw in the Cruise Control shut off switch? I hope my garage doesn't burn down....

To my understanding only the 1993 has the risk of fire, the switch was moved in 1994 and the only thing it can do on these is melt, not start a fire

That's exactly the opposite of what CNN says - they have 1994-1998. Then again, they list it as MarkVII/VIII 1994-1998. We all know the VII ended in 1992, so who knows...

Don't trust CNN, there have been several threads on it, they moved it in 1994. It's the same part, just repositioned.
