I have a problem with random shifting between 3rd and 4th gear. 1st and 2nd operate just fine but, when I shift to drive "D" that's when the jerking starts. RPMs stay constant throught most of the jerking. By random I mean 20 to 30 jerks over about one mile. Could this be the 2-3 accumulator shift spring or maby the shift relay. Tks for any response. Bob

I hope i can help, my 94 mark did the same thing once in a while, i flushed the trans with mercon v and drained the tork converter, then i changed the mlps sensor
it shifts like new now.

Mine was much worse than yours (see my other post) and I had the 1-2 and 2-3 done along with the MLPS, it's not even like it is the same car. These parts need to be changed anyway so you might as well go ahead and do it before it destroys your transmission.

Tks joeydm090682, scott9050, and Monstermark for the great response. So, I take it that it's best to replace the two accummulator assemblies and the mlps. Ok' no dummy here what's a mlps.. Bobscott

It's about $20 at the auto parts store.
