I am thinking of purchasing a 2001 Lincoln LS V8 with only 48000 miles on it. It is from a private seller who has reduced the price gradually over the past few months from 19K to 16K.
Knowing absolutley nothing about these cars, what known problems should I be looking for.
I appreciate any input that you guys may have.
Thanks,
Steve.

Make sure the suspension can be lowered and has not been tinkered w/too much. Should still be factory set wherever you live (im in Michigan and my mother found out why i told her before the snow hit to get it raised if she could because it sits LOW LOW LOW to the ground even w/stock 17 inch chrome rims on it!). Check your exhaust and engine and ALWAYS find out when your brakes and shocks and what not were serviced! Check the spare in the trunk too (see if he was a good buyer and got another 17' spare or just a little doughnut)! Hope it helps!

Check out website "car survey.org"I use it a lot, good source from actual driver/owners) some not so good reports on 2001 l.s.
