I know when talking acceleration,we all like to compare 1/4 mile times and speeds,

but all i want to know is what do these cars run 0-60 mph with 4.10s (or 3.73 even)

does anyone have a guess or firsthand numbers.
or could someone just go out and time it with a stop watch and give me a rough guess

thanks

mike

Too many variables involved. I don't know too many stock Mark VIII's with just gears. If your car has gears you probably have some other mods. I think a typical Mark VIII with gears and trac-loc should be able to do it under 6 seconds.

Before the 4.10s, I had ...

K&N Panel Filter
Drilled airbox
Intake silencer removed
Intake resonator removed
1-2 Accumulator upgrade
Mercon V
B&M SuperCooler Transmission Cooler
20 spokes w/ Michelins

and recorded Tazzo times 0-60 of 7.44 seconds OD off / 7.95 seconds OD on.

Then after installing...

LMS chip
LMS Icebox
ART 2-1/2" Single-X Cat back exhaust
DynoMax UltraFlow Mufflers
Cam Shim
255 Walbro Fuel Pump
AFPR
4.10s
Traction Lock
Poly bushings
Chrome 10 spokes w/ Michelins

I recorded Tazzo times 0-60 of 6.51 seconds OD off / 7.03 seconds OD on.

Something tells me JP you should be sub 6 with those mods. Maybe I'm wrong but I think Brad's car can run under 6.

It is was it was. :p

The Tazzo runs are on street tires and on the street - not good traction for launches. The next biggest problem I see is the 1-2 shift with 4.10s. I've seen a few races in my time lost at the 1-2 shift with the Lincon 'bog'. With a shift kit and drag radials at a well prepped track with good traction (http://photos.imageevent.com/driller/2005racing/stang5pointO.mov) , I'm thinking sub 6.0 would be entirely possible. :D

On your 14.3 run you definately did a sub 6 second 0-60mph.

You went 14.2 with just those mods? Pretty impressive. What was your 60 foot and MPH at the end of the 1/4?
