LS V8 Ultimate purchase

I have a 2000 lincoln ls v8 luxury, with most options @ 88,000 miles.
KBB Value $11,700
they offered $8,500

I am looking at a 2004 lincoln ls Ultimate with every option including HID's except for dvd system.
Kbb value is $27,155
they are asking $26,000

difference of $17,500

So what do you think I should be able to get this 2004 Ls Ultimate for?
Please help me make a great deal. I have heard that these cars are pretty easy to make a great deal.

Oh yeah the power difference between the 2000 to the 2004 was a big difference 252 to 280 plus the quicker shift points, WOW. The car seems to have about 30%increase in performance over the 2000.

The poor salesman has been with lincoln for about one week. I had to tell him the selling points to the car. His sales manager seemed a little more informed but still fairly clueless.

Also when looking up the Ultimate on KBB there is no option, am I misinformed? Or is KBB not up to date?

Hope to get some good info on how much to trade cars for.

Around here - using the various auto websites (AutoTrader, etc.) and visiting dealers - 04 LS V8 Ultimates are going for about $29K-$34K or more. If you've found one for $26K, I think you've found a great deal. I consider a 2004 V8 Sport for $26K a very good deal. But that's Southern California.
(I've shopped so long with more dealers that I can tell virtually all of the salesguys more about the cars than they can tell me.)

Like I said before you can expect to pay more in certain areas of California. I live in Yuppie Central {SF Bay Area} and paid 27k for my 2004 Lincoln LS with I think 16K or so on it. Might have been 19K. Fully loaded Ultimate minus Nav and HID. I Think 26k is a good price but you need to compare that to what they are going for in your area.
