Ok so I had come in here about 5 months ago talking tech about the LS. I intended on buying one then but just cannot right now due to my obligations overseas. I did however get my chance to drive one and have a little fun with a 2004 LS8 Sport. The feel inside felt a little weird at first. I think that was just due to my being used to driving my Mercedes which is huge inside. The TBW and steering were really easy and smooth! It felt like grabbing a piece of silk and pulling it through the air when I was turning. The dealer was a pretty cool fella, who recommended that I get on the gas from a dead stop to realy feel the acceleration. I always have loved the shifting of these new 5 speed auto's. I did one run with auto and another with the SST. Those cars sound really good and have some balls. I was thinking of getting an 01-02 LS8 but I might have to go for the 03 LS8 that had the power jump and mod it from there. It was either between a 99-03 mustang GT or this. I believe I made my mind up after this. I dont even care if I can fit the supercharger in there or not. I will sell it if I have to. These cars are just too classy and comfortable to pass up. God that test drive is going to make this next 5 months draaaaaag by. Sure do love these cars.

I traded in my stock 97 GT(was modified before turning back stock) and was not disappointed by the power difference in the two. Plus, I'm not looking for any races anyway. The LS will most likely never see the track. The only thing that bothers me on the road in a slow car, is not being able to pull out when you want or pass people up in a reasonable time.

Yeah I would say that I felt faster SOTP in the 04 LS than in my buddies modded 98 GT. I plan on having this vehicle as a commuting daily driver/ weekend fun racer. Nothing would feel better than to pull up to a stock mustang or LS-1 and hang with them or beat em, after some serious modding on my part of course. Seeing the shock and awe in their faces as I drove away in the comfort of my luxury car would be priceless.

Yeah, you'll suprise quite a few V8 'stangs. But unless you :nxsmile or boost your LS, keep dreaming about the LS1 cars.

Read above in my original post. I will be boosting my LS with between 6-8 lbs. on a centrifugal supercharger. Gonna be a PITA to get the head unit, the bracketry, inlet and intake to fit in there without modifying the hood. I am sure I will find a way. It sure is a tight fit in there, but I am sure I can make it work. I have no delusions of the LS's power. Stock for stock LS to LS1 Camaro would be a joke of a race. Boosted LS to stock or mildly modded LS1 would be a much better match and be down to a drivers race.
