i got 5% tints all around on my car in chicago, but the law is absolutely no tints in the front 2 windows!!! but if u want tints and are paranoid from the cops, usually if u get 35% tints in the front u can get away with it cuz they aint that dark, but the back windows and the rear window u can get it as dark as u want

In Illinois, it is illegal to apply tint to your front windows, but the back side and rear window can have any darkness.

Just call up a tint place and ask to be sure, though -- they will tell you for free.

alright thanks a lot guys i got the car with 5% tints all around it but i lowered the front windows to 35% and it still looks good but i already got a warning for it but im still going to keep them on the car

just keep your windows rolled down everywhere you go.. i have 3% on my sts and the law in florida is no lower than 15%... but ive seen to notice that they dont car much for tint only if they pull you over, they look for speeders and other bad things.. dont break the law and you can have illegal tint :D
