do you guys think it would be worth picking up a mark 8 motor with a spun rod bearing for $400? the guy says it ran when it was pulled. i think it could be fun to stroke or it might just be junk i really dont know and im a real bad descision maker...

Considering that I just bought an entire MarkVIII with a 70,000 mile running motor off of e-bay for $700, $400 for just a bad motor seems a little excessive.

Your looking at 32-3500$ for a decent stroker rotating assy. Plus machine work, and the misc stuff to put it together.
You MAY be better off buying the engine, and selling the parts on ebay. I parted out my 94's old engine a while back and got 270 for the block, and another 250 for the heads. Cam covers sold for over a hundred, and oil pan/timing cover went for another 100.
I've still got the crank, and the pistons, but will prolly go to the scrap yard, as I don't have a use for them any longer.
The decision is up to you, but you need to know that the Modular engine family is EXPENSIVE to mod/work on compared to older ford/chevy stuff. Maybe one of these days, people will get thier heads out of thier ass, and get on the modular program.

That's excessive. I am selling mine from my wrecked 96 that purrs like a kitten, doesn't even have chain clatter for $500 complete.

It's just stock with 106,000 miles on it, ran great right when it was involved in the crash, no engine damage, ran when started taking apart. Comes with everything except spark plug wires. It includes wiring, accessories and MAF and air tube. I plan on pulling it out in the next few weeks.
