I just got into a fender bender today. I am sure like most, you only have Liability on your Mark. It dosen't look that bad, but I know it is over $2000 in damage. Give your opinion.

I put full collision on the 94 after my my 96 got hit by an unlicensed driver. Here we have no fault and even if it is their fault in an accident, they don't have to pay. I am guessing the bumper cover can be fixed. It should be much cheaper if you can do the work yourself, removal of those components is fairly easy.

That really sucks.... sorry for ya dude.. 1500.00-2000.00 i'd say 517.00 just for the headlight and you just got those too!!! man that really SUCKS!!!! It seems like you just get a car nice and fate takes a BIG :q:q:q:q on you!! I hope that won't happen to me I just upgraded mine recently.....At least it's not too bad.

Ouch that hurts. I had my 94 for 1 day and hit a deer on the way home from picking it up!

I keep comp on my Mark VIIIs just for that purpose. We have a lot of deer had to argue with my agent to put it on but when he saw the car he agreed.

Damage paid for my 94 and sold it to Scott9050 and then purchased my 95.

Well, I just got off the phone with my insurance. My uninsured motorist will cover this. I will let the adjuster look at it tomorrow. My only fear is I hope that the adjuster wont say it is not worth to fix. Ai I see it now, I need a new bumper, hood, left quarter panel, and grill. Geeez this surley sucks. I have my Magnaflow mufflers on order and coming this week. Now I have to divert my efforts to getting my Mark Looking good again.

And except for a few dents in the door and the need to align the hood a little and paint the fender, the car is fixed. I just replaced the damaged chrome piece on top of the door today, no more bump when the window goes down.

The will not total the car for that slight amount of damage I will guarantee you that, especially since the car has such low miles.

My HID's still work. So far. I hope there isn't any permanent damage.

What did you hit? I'm staring at the grill. I don't understand the damage to the grill with the impact point looking like the left front corner. Looks to me like $2500 to $3000 in damage from what I can see.

The left side of the car was struct. I can only say that tension was put on the bumper and it broke. The bumper is also sticking out on the other side as well.

I had the exact damage on the opposite side. Same situation, basic insurance other persons fault. I thought they would total mine after the estimate of $2470. They gave me a check and my tranny went(1600). Still haven't gotten all the body work done yet, but I ordered the parts through various places for less than 1200 the HID @ $500 delivered was the most expensive. The rest was a new bumper cover $288, cornering light $44,license bracket $88 and $165 for the mount for the lights and grill. With the parts I picked up it'll cost me $950 to get it all done including straightening my fender bent the same as yours and straigtening the bumper isolater and the paint work. So it might not be as bad as you might think.

What I am wondering is since my car is 12yrs old, t hey may not be able to buy all new parts. I would like to have it completed by the paint and body shop. I have an appointment today. I will find out.

That paint looks like 3 coat thats whats gonna get you. I was involved in a pile up in my 97 continental 58K miles pearl white w/ limo tint and on 4/20 it was gone with rear bumber and front end damage along w/ engine mount to I think and they totaled my car out at $7800 and I paid $8000.

The kid in this thread has a bumper cover that just needs the chrome strips replaced:

http://www.markviii.org/htdocs/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=27&topic_id=18629&mesg_id=18629&page=

I bought some body parts from him for my car (grille, fender, marker light). Also, the ford parts network has new grilles for $284.89. Used ones are very hard to find (they pop up on Ebay from time to time) and they do not seem to be much cheaper than new ones. Car-part.com only has a few listed.

Or you can try auot-body parts.com for the bumper cover it's 283.50. If you can find a aplace with grilles for a good price let me know I'm still trying to find a good one, the local junk yards all seem to have busted ones. So far the only plae that I've found with grilles is either parts galaxy and a place in NY don't know it off the top of my head but I've got yhe number and adress somewhere that's wher I got my HID new for $500 delivered he has the other parts too, at a good price because I checked.

Today I went to the salvage yard and i hit pay dirt literally. I was able to pick up a bumper cover with an imaculate grille, header panel, crhrome striping that goes above the lights, drivers side fender with no dents. All of this for $350.00. I am going to go back and get the get the hood which is in perfect condition. I watched the guy take all of the parts off that Mark, and it only took him 30 minutes. I was amazed. I started to feel a lot better about making my Mark look beautiful again. My plan is to have all of the pieces painted and reinstall them. I hope to show everyone the beauty of my Mark once again.

The parts are very easy to replace, I just had the whole front end apart at the beginning of the month.

rockauto.com has chrome bumper strips for the front for $28.89 (left and right each) and the back piece for $41.79. I'm going to order one for the back, just thought you might like to know. It's not cheaper anywhere else that I'm aware of. The dealer charges $81.00 for the back piece, so I'm sure the front pieces are double too.

The Tripletreads are excellent. They handle very good. This is the main reason why I stayed with 16" tires and rims. The biggest size the tripletreads come in is 225/60/16.

:dancefool I like your mufflers. Is that a full performance catback or just the mufflers. Either way what is the best sounding/performing muffler system to get for the viii and where do you get it and how much is it?
