Pretty cool idea Dart, should be an interesting array of answers!

I for one actually am 24 and have two online businesses, one being a Golf Store, the other is an Equestrian site that my fiance and I both run.
(She Designs im the Coder! haha)

Those have really taken off well in the past year, so they keep things interesting most of the time! My 9-5 day job is another company I helped start and co-own that specializes in designing specific online marketing strategies for various types of online stores and websites.

(After all the hard work the LS was a little paid in full bonus for myself! :D)

I guess most of you think I do the LS Koncepts thing full time...Wrong! I actually work as a Facilities Manager/Environmental, Health and Safety Officer for a robotics company named Remotec (www.remotec-andros.com (http://www.remotec-andros.com)). Our parent company is Northrop Grumman which is the second largest defense contractor for the military. I have an Industrial Engineering degree and have been working in my field for close to 15 years. I started LS Koncepts only on a whim. It just got bigger as I added more aftermarket products for the LS. Will it last? Who knows but I have a great career and love both jobs I'm doing right now.

I'm a lawyer.

'snotmydaddy's, it's a shame you're in MO, I need a painter...
I just sort of fell into my career. I never wanted to go to law school, but I was at Arizona State getting a political science degree and soon to be married, and it sort of dawned on me that there was no way I'd ever be able to provide for a family with a political science degree. Someday, I hope to find a way to make a living with it, but for now and the foreseeable future I'm stuck.

Don't feel like you need to go to college to make a living. Nothing wrong with trade school, and there are still plenty of ways to get through life without a degree. Do what you like.

Hey man all I can say is don't give up looking for something you want. I am in the same boat as you. I do have a college degree from the University of Iowa, I've been out of school a year and half and still haven't found anything what I supposedly went to school for. The college degree really hasn't helped to much so far. If you don't mind people and dealing with money I suggest getting a job at a bank. There are many different ways to go, you might have to be a teller for a while but growth is always a possibility within banking.

didjital|, what's your golf web site?

You can take a look at our oldest site at www.customizedgolfballs.com which is what we got our start with HOWEVER!!- it got a new face lift, more products and is actually about to re-launch by the end of this week with tons of new products! So you can see basically the products in the current site are rare, since we took out all discontinued gear and left the most popular balls.

Our speciality are laser inscribed custom logo and personalized balls and mostly in larger quantities. Perhaps LVC can personalize some balls and put names on the other sides of the logos! I don't know about printing the lincoln logo though i'd have to check on the licensing.

By the end of this week, or mid next it'll be an entirely new site, and new product lines, check it out!

P.S One interesting bit of information most don't know about and i'll throw it in here as my useless fact o' the day -- But Jaguar also makes horse saddles not just cars! (We sell them on the other site).

Golf...did someone say GOLF!! Oh my! That is my first passion! Forget the LS and just let me play golf!! I've played ever since I was in the 5th grade. Great looking site for golf balls. Have you checked out www.4gea.com (http://www.4gea.com)? That place is awesome and I spend about as much time there as here.

Maybe we can work a deal on some golf balls like Pro V1's or something. I'm a 4 handicap so I must not work much huh? :Beer

I browse 4GEA fairly often!

Yeah we can pretty much get any balls, right now we carried only a few manufacturers as we started so we didn't get ahead of ourselves, but the system is down pat and warehousing will be in place to order and store it all, so the new site / look is the first step toward that phase 2 !!

P.S - A 4 handicap is pretty dangerous in a money per hole in match play! I see the NationWide Tour then PGA in your future! hehe.

When I started my undergrad I was a Bio Chemistry major thinking of getting into medicine. Was doing ok, then got involved helping out (ok Dave and Bryan I'm waiting for something on this) with Special Olympics and had a blast.

After spending a month shadowing my old family doctor I found out that I loved the science and the thrill of working with the guts of people. Got to put my hands in a living human, held the organs of another it was wild, I could not stand the attitudes of the patients. Thought it's not worth it the patient would drive me crazy.

Went back to school the following semester and talked to my advisor and said I am not sure I want to continue in this field. He asked me what I wanted to do and I said I really not sure. So there was a Prof walking buy and he said here go with this guy. I said sure ok, and found my self preparing to be a teacher.

Love it do not regret ever becoming a teacher.

Like what i do keeps me busy, sometimes too busy when we have growing years like the past 2 years but when economy slows down is when it hurts for this type of job cause no one wants to buy heavy machinery for some reason.. lol ..

Staff Sergeant, United States Air Force. My actual job title is as an Integrated Avionics Technician on aircraft. However, for the last three years I have worked as a Communications Support Team member for Headquarters Air Mobility Command's (HQ AMC) Tanker Airlift Control Element (TALCE). A Tanker Airlift Control Element is a deployed Air Mobility Command organization established at fixed, en route, and deployed locations where AMC operational support is non-existent or insufficient. The TALCE provides continuing on-site management of AMC airfield operations including command and control, communications, aerial port services, maintenance, security, weather, and intelligence -- those critical elements needed to ensure safe and highly efficient air base for all tanker and airlift operations, A TALCE is composed of mission support elements from various units and deploys in support of contingency/emergency relief operations on both a planned and "no-notice" basis. At my Current job I perform a variety of services including:

High Freqency Radio (like a HAM radio) program manager
Director of Mobility Forces Communications Support
Security Forces Augmentee (Military Police)
Hazardous Materials Waste Manager
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) technician
Power Generation Technician
Network Systems Administrator
FCC Certified Radio Repair Technician
FAA Certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician

So, itsnotmydaddys if you want experience...maybe the Air Force Might be what you're looking for. Maybe not...but check them out at. www.airforce.com (http://www.airforce.com) After all...where else can you build a resume like that?

I am 24 yrs old and I was in the Marines for 4yrs. after that I started my own company. I deal in collections and recovery ( ooh fun argueing all the time!!) I deal mainly in the medical field in Worker's comp claims. Person gets hurt... needs treatment.... Insurance company wont pay..... so it goes to court and that's were I come in. I negotiate with both sides and get them to agree on a monetary(sp) settlement and then I take 13% as my payoff. I also run an interpreting business with my wife (of one week) that was a hell of a yr planning that one!!! anyway back to the subject we run the other business as well in the San Deigo area alot of ppl speach Spanish as there first language so we contract with area Doctors and provide them with interpreters for ther patients. And we bill the insurance company. It's good money... we are also looking into starting a new business in the later part of this year. It will be a safe company that sells high end safes to some of the higher income regions in our area. Sorry for the long post.....

F-16?? Incentive flight or Good ol' boy network? I got an incetive in an F-15E back at Mountain Home. That was a friggin riot... :woowoo2:

Incentive. I got to log the time because I was already a flight crew member. I still have that AF Form 791. I did a really high profile Centaf SAAM back in May of 01, Moved Generald Wald and pretty much ALL of the middle eastern Chiefs of Staff to Brussels Belguim. I got my ride on August 28th, 2001, and of the whole crew, was the ONLY one who got the ride.

Best time I've ever had. EVER.

I live halfway between Iowa City and West Branch. I work at West Branch Ford, obviously in West Branch.

We only have 4 techs and 1 lube dude out there, so its pretty easy to know who's working on your car. Pretty laid back with a 60$/hr shop rate as opposed to Iowa City's over 90$/hr.

How long is left on your drag car project? I read the site a while ago and its looking like a mean car.

I am 54 yrs old and work as an electronic systems analyst for the National Weather Service. This means I am responsible for all electronics (radars, radios, networks, and computers). I have 3 kids. 1 is a navy officer, 1 is an officer in the Marines and my daughter goes to college.
I joined the navy in 1969 and stayed for 6 yrs. Became a police officer for 2 yrs and switched career fields back into electronics. I retired from the Navy reserves as a chief petty officer in 1994.
Now I am pretty much busy at work and doing my hobbies.

I'm a 45 year old designer, I run a Catia CAD station designing automotive inspection fixtures. The company I works for builds gages to check any automotive panel, sheet metal or plastic. I started building gages in 1979. In 1983 I was Crew Leader/CMM operator and I built the gages to check the 'A' pillar on the original Mark VII's. An interesting note the fixture was a dual purpose gage for the Mark VII and the T-bird. The Mark VII post had more holes to run and mount wiring(suprize, suprize) but the form was identical.

I'm 20, drive a Lincoln Mark VIII - my second Lincoln. I'm in east-central Pennsylvania going to school at Penn State University for communications, hope to then go to law school. Currently I work in radio, doing a bit of everything at 2 local stations, I'm on the air live 6 days per week and handle programming for our adult contemporary FM station.

Leaving the radio station soon to transfer to one of two places... a data processing company as a member of their in house tech staff (did I mention I have some IT certifications as well?) or to a top secret project at a large local media company (serisously - its top secret - only the owner of the company, me, and one other person even know anything about it) - I have the oppritunity to get in on the start-up of this company's latest venture as the operations manager. Both are up in the air, I'm anxisoulsy awaiting news from both places.

Live at home with my parents and never see them... I'm asleep when they leave, and they're asleep when I get home. lol

My girlfriend is a pick-up truck girl but she totally understands my Lincoln obession! We've been together for about 2 years.

I'm 21 and work for a grocery store called Food Lion. I work in the meat department as a Butcher/meat cutter (some prefer one term over the other). I went to college after graduating HS and went in studying computer programming and than switched to computer repair but all the stuff started to really get to me and by my 3rd semester I got so fed up and sick of it that I just did not register to continue, it was a community college. Before the butcher job I was a mechanic at AMF Carolina Lanes which was fun but hard too because I did not know alot of the things, so if a machine broke I'd need help, other than that I just spent the whole time running from machine to machine getting stuck bowling balls, fixing pile ups and checking the camera for the scoring. Mainly it sucked working 2 or 3 days a week, having to work friday nights from 5pm to almost 3 am and all day sunday. Ended up quiting because I hated it, and got the job at Food lion a couple days later and had no idea I would still be here today. Pay is alright, I'm still under-paid and have been waiting for the raise for quite sometime. Have not left because I like the store and the people, and I get alot of days off. But it would be nice to make much more so I can save for a future lol.

Also have a g/f of 4 yrs and a month or so. I should of gone to school for fixing cars and such since I love cars. Have had a few as you can see in my sig. The LS is the only car that I've had that is something worth something. But I still love cavaliers (after owning 3 why not right). I'd love to get another '88 or '89 z24 2.8L v6, 5spd and eventually do a swap to a 3400. ANother online club has a few 3400 powered 2nd gens and they love 'em. Or get an 3rd gen ('95-'05), prefer an '02 and hook that up and have it as a nice "beater" car.

I work by myself with no training or experience and my supervisors don't care. I hate it; if I hadn't promised my g/f (whom I live with) that I would never be going out to sea again, I would already be back on a ship. I am a Replenishment Mgr. for Target out in the Phoenix area. My wife and I will be happily married for 10 years coming up on 06/17. We have 2 kids and they are about all I can handle right now. Was born and raised on the southside of CHICAGO then moved to the far suburbs(JOLIET) where the CHICAGOLAND Speedway is at(for those of you who are into NASCAR) then just recently moved to the Phoenix area due to the wife getting a real nice promotion. Different way of living out here compared to the bigger cities. Going back to college after dropping out and now just realizing that you need your degree what ever it maybe in to get yourself noticed and to make the BIG BUCKS$$$$.

Congrats on your ten (10) years.

I agree. A Bank Job has excellent benefits, you never work late, you get to dress nice *which should be a gimme with your LS!!* and flexible schedules. I am working on my second year at Bank of America here in Kansas City. Not amazingly happy with it but it's a solid job, lots of paid vacation/holidays, competitive salary for a 21year old with no college degree.

A buddy and myself are hopefully following through with openening a car audio/custom shop. Doing anything from body kits/paint, to stereos, to interior etc. =) I have the business loan lined up if I need it but a lot of :q:q:q:q to go through first!

Nice to meet a fellow power plant guy. Im a former power plant operator. Operated the little stuff (1200 psi) all the way up to the super critical units (3206 psi). All the boilers I worked with were Natural gas fired with fuel oil burning capability. Man I miss the plants.

Hey gang,

Well I'll be 39 on the 29th.

I'm a computer applications developer and have been in IT for the last 18 yrs. Mosty I have Reporting and tracking applications as well as supporting telemarketing campaigns (no not the cold call loosers who call during dinner, but ones that support warm lead growth).
I'm currently a full time Dad, left the last job because boss/owner would not backup his promises (even the ones on paper). It cost me more money to try and work at that job than it did to quit.

I'm looking for new opportunities and perhaps some more education to broaden my skill set.

After college and grad school I was in the retail business, managing department stores and became a retail financial analyst. At 40 , burnt out and headad for a heart attack, I put my MBA in the top desk drawer and bought a small company that repairs pool and patio furniture. We replace the vinyl strapping (hence the "straps") and slings at mostly hotels, condos and resorts. Now my "office" usually overlooks the pool or the beach. Workin' less, makin' more.....(There's a lesson in there someplace for all of the students out there. One thing that they didn't cover at Wharton was entrepreneurship..and maybe spelling....)

Just got my LS about a month ago, and have been reading these forums for about 2 months. This is an excellent place setup for us LS owners!!

And to the guy who said he was moving to the UK for their cheap gas: They sell their fuel by the liter. An LS holds around 68 liters, so it would cost you around $54 UK to fill up your car. At the current conversion rate, it would be around $100 US to fill up your LS in the UK. We got it lucky!

I'm an Air Force officer with more than 20 yrs on active duty. Upon finishing high school, I never wanted to step foot into another institution for learning. But, I found out pretty fast that without a formal education or some type of training, no one will hire you. I initially sought a recruiter, joined the Air Force as an Aircraft Maint. I am 35 i moved to Austin Texas from NJ about 2years ago. To work at Dell which turned out to be a nightmare. I was a Liquidity Specialist. I managed a 30Million dollar portfolio until the lay-off. I am now currently contracting at Capital Metro as a Data Analyst for the Safety and Security Dept. in which i create, update, upgrade and maintain DATABASES for this Dept. as well for other Dept. to be able to use as well. And on the side out of my apartment i do computer work such as trouble shooting, data recovery, upgrades, networking, New Builds and Programing. etc etc etc. ..

I'm 31, live just South of Boston where it's supposed to snow 12" this weekend. I'm a supervisor at a financial company (institutional trading). The money is ok, and all I do all day is surf the internet basically and yell every once in a while. I'm married almost 7 years with two boys 10 & 4 and a 5 yr old girl. My career is pretty much on hold until my wife finishes nursing school, so I'm kind of in a rut I guess.

Motts, do you fight at all or just train? I'm a big fan of MMA and have trained pretty much for the last 10 years in one thing or another. The MMA scene is pretty big here in Boston with a lot of guys starting to get some recognition.

i'm 25 and do a mixture of IT, marketing/advertising, graphic/web design and sales for a pro audio company here in hollywood called Coffey Sound. we sell and rent high end audio equipment to film and TV sound mixers (and the occasional aspiring student, of course). it's a fun job but i am stretched a bit thin these days, covering so many departments.
