Leaking Rear Brake Caliper!!!!!surfaaron May 7th, 2005, 08:02 PM My rear caliper on the drivers side of my 87 mark is leaking. It seems to be leaking from where the bolt that holds on the e-brake cable goes in to the caliper. Can I replace the O rings or do I have to replace the cliper. Thanks for any help. talonlsc May 9th, 2005, 02:59 PM Just replace it..save the headaches for something else WALT May 14th, 2005, 11:12 AM not worked the rear calipers in a long time but off the top of my head I would think that there O rings around the shaft for the park brake lever -- have suspicion that it would be much harder to try to get that all apart ( piston / lever / shaft ) to replace seals ( then you have to try to find some seals and will just have to do a "match " at the parts store, etc etc ) --- so would be much faster and less fustrating to just replace the caliper assembly. good luck American Air-1 May 14th, 2005, 08:46 PM Most calipers are a piece of cake to do, but that one is a little tricky. I agree to just replace the caliper with a rebuilt unit and be done with it.
