New guy introduction with a question.

Hi,
My name is Rick/a.k.a Spanky. I own a 1997 LSC. I really do love that car. I am a car enthusiast. In fact I am building a car. If we ever get it finished, we plan to sell them. It is called the Ascot Roadster. A retro circa 1945 era 2-seat topless vehicle with modern components. We plan to make them in two version: A hot rod version and a sports card version (basically no fenders or fenders. Target weight is 1300 lbs with an LS-1 and a 5-speed. Should be pretty zippy.

I have a question about my Lincoln. I ran across a Lincoln website that lists an airbox modification: Basically drilling holes into the airbox to allow for greater airflow. I am wondering if there is any performance benefit. I already have replaced the air filter with a K&N unit. I understand that it will be louder but am wondering if it is worth it? Does anyone have any advice?

If you do enough searching you'll find that drilling the air box is a controversial move. Some people say they can tell a difference, others say all it does is destroy a stock piece of equipment for no gain. Most, however, will agree that removing the air silencer/snorkel located in the front passenger-side wheel well is a good move. This will give your engine more growl as well.

As for your question, sounds kool, but does not really gain anything. Better off getting yourself a new MAF from LMS instead...... :Beer
