The crossovers are huge so i mounted them in the trunk.. just temporarily for now until we get the fiberglass boxes built and false floor for the trunk made.. I also dynamatted the inside door shells to.. Hoping to cut down on vibrating door panels..

And we also ran all new stinger wiring to each component in each door..lol took about 150 feet of wire to do it.

yeah my x-overs are HUGE as well, My tahoe had so much room I was able to tuck them in the A-Pilars between doors or even under the dash!

kINDA a forewarning to ya.. something i was kinda hesitant to do but i did it any way and came out looking real good is that you will have to cut the door panel out so the surrounds don't hit the sides of the factory hole cutout. just use a razor blade and we used a permanent marker and colored the edge of the new cutout to somewhat match the door panel color so it didn't look to obvious..

oh and if this will help ya too.. i used a spacer and lifted the speaker up a little bit so that the basket would fit into the factory cutout in the door frame and also there may have been some clearance issues with the magnet and the window.. check that before you put the panels back on.. lol.. learned my lessson.. lol

thanks! But cutting that area should not effect too much since the factory grill will cover it all right?

Can the grill covering the front door speakers be removed without removing the door panel? My driver's door speaker is making a buzzing sound and I'd like to take a look at it. It would be easier if I didn't have to remove the entire door panel.

it can but won't do you no good, cause you won't be able to remove the speaker until the door panel is out all you will see the the plastic cover the speaker.. kinda pointless.

I just wanted to see the speaker cone to see if it has a hole in it. So you are saying that behind the grill there is a plastic cover over the speaker?
