luckieleo May 2nd, 2005, 02:09 PM so the friggin door wont open from the inside AGAIN!!!! out of nowhere, it just stops working. this time, no warning signs, just wont open.
i guess the good news is the dealership fixed it last time, and the repair comes with a 1 year, 12000 mile warranty, so i better get it in there soon!!! i'm friggin pissed!!!! :soapbox:
when they fixed it, they said, "you should have come here in the first place. the last person to fix it didnt replace all the rivets and didnt tighten it all the way... so thats why it went bad again right away. "
so i'm gonna have to make some kind of smart ass remark about why they didnt fix it right the first time to have it go bad again 3 months later!!! :N
dertyclown May 2nd, 2005, 02:19 PM just ask who worked on it last time, then request that they send him for a drug test. or just ask for somthing for free above and beyond the door.

i will definitely try to get something for free, but we all know how LM dealerships are... they will just find a way to blame it on me!!! :slam
i can see it now... "did you maybe slam the door too hard??" or "are you sure you havent taken it apart & messed with it?"
i'll be somewhat nice, but if they pull that crap on me, i'll cause a scene!
maybe i shouldnt though... considering thatst the one i always go to since its closest to my house! this sucks!!! :bash:
IL-LS May 2nd, 2005, 02:49 PM what LM Dealer do you go to?

if i did upgrade, id aim higher, like an 03 or 04. :Beer
unfortunately, that thought is not even in the picture right now, since the car is not paid off yet... and the value of the car is about what i owe... if i traded it in, i'd get exactly ZERO dollars for it right now. :(

Your still in a better situation than most, there are SO many people who are up-side-down on their cars!!!
itsnotmydaddys May 2nd, 2005, 05:31 PM hey luckie, im still opening mine from the outside, it makes me feel like im in a 74 monte, also the loud squeall form the ball joint doesnt help. ask them how mauch the parts are. tell them u want your friends door fixed also and ill drive up there. the place here wants i think 50 for the door and 60 an hour to find out what wrong. ask them for some free parts sop i can fix mine. hey pm me when u get a chance i posted it b4. oh yeah "i told you so what"
luckieleo May 2nd, 2005, 07:25 PM well, i tried opening the door again. last time it was starting to go, i was still able to pull it open from the inside with ALOT of force, and i was gonna try doing that, but i noticed the handle felt weird. so, i look at it and sure enough, the handle itself is broken!!! its plastic junk... so its cracked in 2 different places. i never yanked on it that hard where it could break... so i have no clue how it happened...whatever...
so its NOT the SAME bullsh!t, its DIFFERENT bullsh!t...which is good, i guess... its a quick fix. the handle is a $35 part, and if i remember correctly, its a couple of screws, and maybe a rivet or 2... and my dad has a rivet tool to take the old ones out & put new ones in, so it should be alright. i wanted to get the new handle today, but the parts dept. is only open till 5:30. :(

i'm just GUESSING i'm even. i probably AM upside down. now that i've hit 70,000 miles, and it is a 2000, its probably worth less than $10k... (which is around what i owe...) :(
if i wanted to shop for a new one, trade in value wouldnt count, i'd have to tack on the buy off for what i owe.. :slam
oh well... i'm sure when its paid for, i can afford an 05, or an 06 if lincoln changes their mind & keeps making em. :L

i thought lincoln was going to make the ls until 2008

Actually indications are that 2007 may be the last year but Lincoln has done crazier things.

Unfortunately, It's worth a lot closer to 7 than it is to 10.

Wow...which book are you looking at?
jdsimons May 4th, 2005, 08:07 AM 7 KINDA sounds like a real low ball estimate.. but thats just a guess.. maybe if you trade it in with the door not working..

according to kbb the trade in value for a 2000 ls v8 w/ 70k (in good condition) is $9,000 and the one with the v6 is $7,175

Thats correct and generally the Nada black book, which dealers use, is lower than KBB. Add in the fact if it needs some tires, or brakes, or has some scratches and those are more deductions. My understanding is that luckieleo's is a V6 and if that is true it is worth a lot closer to 7 than 10.

I missed that as well. Any dealer will put a car with 70K in FAIR condition not good. That would make it worth even less. But, for some reason, LS's are hot now on the market and some dealers seem to be giving more than they are worth. I have seen a bunch of 02 V8's advertised for more than I can get a brand new 05 V6.

how much can you get a 05 v6 for... thats what im in the market for

They've been advertising here in Knoxville, TN new 05 V6 LS's for less than $30K after rebates. I'm sure you can get one for around that number. Also, you better pick up V6 this year because Lincoln will not produce the LS in a V6 next year.
stateproperty3423 May 4th, 2005, 09:36 AM the cheapest i seen was 20k for a 05 v6 but they were all rebates and incentives i cant apply for ......i still need to scan that newspaper ad so you all can see
zubrus1 May 4th, 2005, 09:50 AM the cheapest i seen was 20k for a 05 v6 but they were all rebates and incentives i cant apply for ......i still need to scan that newspaper ad so you all can see
I have seen them in the low to mid 20's, it all depends what rebates are available and what rebates you qualify for. Most lincoln dealers would have no problem selling the vehicle for a few hundred over invoice minus all rebates that you qualify for. If you live in an area with multiple dealers, all the better for you.
