I'm gonna bet that there was absolutely no relationship between the door locks and the dash lamps until you created one. --------- "Well heres what i pulled off the car so far. Sound deading rear seatbelts rear speakers factory amp insulation from the carpet back seat upper and lower.surprised about the weight. heater... " ------------ EDIT: OK... After thinking on it a while, I very well might lose my bet. Whenever I pull on a door handle on my '88 LSC, the interior lights (including the dash) light up as a convenience while entering the car at night. So, there is some connection between the doors, locks, handles, or whatever, and the dash lamps. It doesn't matter if the doors are locked or not. Doesn't matter if the headlamps are lit or not.. Pull a handle and some lights go on. Since the lights go off by themselves in a timed sequence fashion, a computer is doing it. Since the headlamp switch is not the only thing that can activate the dash lights, it's only one possibility. And as weird as it is that your doors need to be locked before the dash lights up, I would ignore the obvious and start by taking a close look at all the door wiring.. vegaswheelman November 12th, 2011, 08:46 PM Do your dash lights come on in AutoLamp mode? In Manual mode? The illumitated entry mode might bypass your headlamp switch. Heck, it could be a bad dimmer, too. | |||||
