The tentative plan:

I will be locating an area campground where I and anyone else who would like to spend the weekend camping may do so.

I will also locate an area Lodging Establishment who will give us a group rate. (I will need to know how many members will need lodging before I contact places of lodging).

Friday Meet at Campground and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

8:00 PM head to area dinning establishment (to be announced) for our nightly sustenance, and to plan for Friday Nights entertainment

(July 16 Sat Jr. Dragster 9-3pm/Street Car Brawl 3pm-11pm)

Saturday Morning attend a local dinning establishment (to be announced) for our morning shot of go juice and food!

First annual Midwest LvC Summer Shootout at Great Lakes Dragway (track arrival time to be announced)
July 17 Sun Fun Racing Open for all 9am- 5pm

6:00 PM night time meal (to be announced) Plan is an LvC BBQ (byo) We will attempt to have grilling equipment.

There has been a suggestion to have a Poker game for those who would like to acquire Joey’s Mark VIII.

Evening Entertainment to announce

Sunday again enjoy good company and breakfast and brag or laugh about Saturday’s events!

Date is Set but the schedule is still tentative, Discussion on activities is open

I will be posting Camping information and Lodging Information in the coming weeks.

Remember I will need a head count before I contact Lodging Establishments for group rates.

I'm in. I may not be camping over night, but I'll be there for one of the days just don't know which one yet. :V

Also as a note this is a LvC meet you are not required to race if you don't want too.

A good friend of mine who has Great Lakes Dragway in his back yard (and also 10 acres of land has said the we can use his land if we need it. That would mean camping if necessary.

He's marked it down on his calendar and planning on us to be around. My wife will be spending the weekend with his wife, as they are childhood friends.

So plans are increasing - I'm also looking into getting a few sites at Bong Recreational Area which is a state campground.

I need to know who would want to camp or will need over night lodging.

I'm just waiting for a reply from Great Lakes Dragway - I left a phone message yesterday and an e-mail today.

I will post them again tonight and call them again tomorrow if I don't hear anything.

Currently the cost to race a car at Great Lakes Dragway is $30 for the day.

It is $12 to spectate.

I am checking to see if they have a facility for us to BBQ. Otherwise we will do the BBQ at my friends place which is about 1/2 mile away.

I would like to know if any members will need lodging. I would like to make this a weekend event with more than just racing.

I am also checking into Bong Recreation Area to see if they have campsites available.

I just got done talking with Bong State Receration Area as I am looking for a place to camp.

Prices are $10/day non-electric and $15/day electric

I could get a group site for 1 - 20 people $40 per day unlimited tents
or 21 - 50 people per day $60 per day. That is not per person but for the site per day. These sites are non-electric.

So if anyone is interested in camping let me know. The state of Wisconsin does not allow anyone to reserve campsites. They are first come first serve and must be reserved through Reserve America link below.
