Hey everyone! I just purchased my first 2002 Black LS. After reading some of the posts I already have mod fever. How can I add dual exhaust with the stock rear bumber?

i see we have the same problem... btw, the car DOES have dual exhaust, if your talking about adding chrome tips, i've got a 00 LS v6, and i've been trying to find someone selling "S-pipes" so that i could get chrome exhaust tips that would stick straight out, since the stocks are pointing down. i dont want anything big that sticks out alot, just want it sort of like the newer ls's that have the dual exhaust showing in chrome.

so far, havent found anyone selling the s-pipes, but i know thats what i would need to attach to the stock, then put the chrome tips onto the s-pipes.. (the s-pipes are just bent pipes, i think they are called s-pipes)

i dont feel like going to meineke to have them do it, but i've gone to a couple custom car shops, and all of them had said it would cost alot, cuz they'd have to take some meausrements & send it out to have the "s-pipes" made, then bring it back in, put it on, and put the chrome tips on.

oh, and yes, the rear valance (black plastic part) would get in the way of the pipes sticking str8 out, so you would have to cut some of it away. i'm not worried about that... i can do that at home..

so good luck, and if you find someone with a good solution (other than paying $700 to get a whole new exhaust system), let me know!!!

I believe you already have dual exhaust. I think all LSes have it. The older cars don't have the cutouts in the bumper, but they do have true dual exhuast with turn-down tail pipes.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess cutting the bumper and running straight chrome pipes/tips is what I need to do.

Welcome to :V

I live right down the street from you...keep a look out for a white LS that flashes his highs at every other LS he sees...that'd be me.

Hey, Celo
by the way, you asked if your bumper is OEM. did you get an answer?
I dont think it's OEM.
the side skirt also looks like it's aftermarket kit because I thought only LSE came with those side skirt (I may be wrong).
and looking at your photo of the bumper, the bottom flaring out doesnt look like it's OEM. anyone agreee/disagree?

Someone asked me if it was a razzi body kit but I wasn't sure cause when I purchased the car from my brother that works at Merc Lincoln dealer he didn't know either! I didn't know weather it was or wasn't an OEM bumpers!! I know that the way the car looked drew me and my wife to the car and then when we both drove it we fell in love with the car!!

I have considered the same on my '01. What i may try is taking a hole saw, drilling a half moon into the lowest part of the bumper, then taking some sand paper/ steel wool and sand the curve smooth. Then stick some straight tips on. I think this would look much like the newer models

I had the same thought about adding stainless tips straight out the back.

If I remember correctly there are welded hangers on the downturn which will complicate adding tips a bit.

I have a 2000 LS-8.
