Hey guys, i'm new here and very impressed with your forums. i'm wanting to change my single color red tail light covers on my '01 with updated multi color ones. However, I can't see paying $400 bucks for 'em. Sheesh. Any advise on where i might could find some MUCH cheaper?

Off of a wreck maybe? You have to realize that your getting the entire assembly and not just the lens part.

have you tried ebaymotors they should have some there!! Oh and welcome :W to :V .

not that simple - the only two-tone taillights for the pre-03 LSes were for the Japenese market - unlikely you'll find them on e-bay or at a wrecker.

Yeah, but you could find the 03 and up corners probably cheap somewhere. The deck lid lights would be damn near impossible find in a junk yard unless you resided in Japan.

sure - but the 03+ are smooth surfaced while the pre-03 have contour lines in them - it may look kinda funny.

Actually it looks pretty good. Here's a picture of the 03 corners and the two tone deck lid lights:
