im afraid to drop it cuz i have 17's ...umm rear's have 275x40x17's and the front's have...mm 245x45x17's,and with the rear i whind up scuffin my tires when theres a dip in the road when im ya know driving ,we all know the car drops alil when goin at high speeds..um, the fronts i really have no problem.
so in this case... to drop or not to drop...or should i go with another tire size?

I lowered mine almost 2 inches and had a slight problem with rubbing in the rear, only at highway speeds.

Welcome to the Rub Club... It happens because of the lip inside the rear tirewell... It flares on a 90 degree. A buddy of mine on the board here (BrentAlan) took his car to an autobody guy (Dude looks just like Greg Allman) and he said he'd have to cut the lip but that means paint for the qtr panel... So it ain't a cheap fix!

I'm running 255/50/17's all the way around on my Cobra R's... I picked those so I can rotate when needed, but still have the rub on the hwy when ya hit a decent dip in the road... Its not too bad, but I must say it concerns me sometimes. Another reason I like the 255/50's is that they fill tirewell. I haven't lowered! :steering

yeah , i hear ya about the lip on the qtr panels, matter of fact..one of the plastic mouldings/or plastic thingy they have there to keep it from being sharp well one flew off of mine i guess froma tire rub. i know sounds funny but it conserns me too cause the rub and if the lip is sharp,there goes your tire shot to sh*t...(lol my inspector who inspects my car yrly said girl you gotta get this done or im not gonna put on ur inspection sticker,(my tire got chewed by that.)so i got to get a move one before my insp is up...i have to find one of thos plastic thingys so my tire doesnt get any more chewed
i havent lowerd it eaither,and i really dont want to though...i dont want to mess with the oringinallity the way the car was suppose to look/or sit ya know.ill put my money n time getting the things in tip top shape and then put goodies like a better pully or exaust..i dunt know ill think of something. :L
