The latest issue of Road&Track tested the '04 CTS against the likes of the BMW 530i, Audi A6, Chrysler 300, Jaguar S-type, Mercedes E320, and the Volvo S80. It was the undisputed best out of all of them.

Lexus GS300

Cars which compete directly on price with the CTS, but which have bigger, stronger engines
Chrysley 300C
Lincoln LS V8
Volvo S60R
Infiniti M45

Which isn't to say that the CTS isn't a very nice car. I think it's an incredible piece. But that's to say that comparo results are basically opinion and we should not get too carried away with the fact that someone's opinion matches ours, especially when it was so narrowcast.
