pour me another one April 14th, 2005, 10:27 AM Bought a 2002 Lincoln LS about three weeks ago with just about 41,500 miles. The dealer showed me a carfax and everything checked out. Even showed me a reciept of the brakes being re-done at their location a week before I stopped in. Everything seemed to be ok. Just recently, about a week ago, I found a repair sticker in the left hand corner of the windshield. The mileage written on there said 43,800! :eek2: It looked like an oil change sticker that places put on your winshield to remind you when your next oil change is due. It was even from their dealership! I bought my own carfax report and looked at it my self to find out that they don't report difference in mileage if its less then 3,000 miles. Could they have set the odometer back just to make a couple bucks?
ohioLS April 14th, 2005, 10:31 AM I dont think its possible to do so on a LS with its complex computer system. I would put money that the oil change guy typed the wrong mileage on the sticker. It does happen just like sh*t happens.
Good luck!

maybe the 43,800 is when you need to get the next oil change, not when the last one was done...

The actual mileage was 43,800 and the next visit was to be at 51,XXX miles.

It was hand written with one of those thin marker pens. I told my parents and they said to forget about it because its not worth the headache over a few thousand miles, but I still don't know.
pour me another one April 14th, 2005, 10:58 AM I think they set it back because the warranty was supposed to expire at 45,000 miles.
BlackLS00 April 14th, 2005, 11:04 AM Lincoln LS Manf Warranty is 4 years 50000 miles so i would say no to that. Also like everyone said it would be almost impossible to set the milage back on the LS and also the dealer would be risking alot (Losing buisness and fines and possible jail time) just to make a couple of bucks more. I wouldnt worry about it..

Who changes the oil at those intervals...???? Better not spend much time above 2500 RPM.... I'd say if actual Milage is 43,800 next change is 46 or 48K...
RE: The Car... If you like it and its running great... Then Cool... don't kill yourself on the milage... If anything check the brakes, since the dealer said they were done... If that checks out... Your cool dude... Pour another one and chill...
MonsterMark April 14th, 2005, 12:36 PM No doubt some chillin is in order.
