I had to go by the local Cingular office to resolve an "issue" with the data plan on my new Treo 650, and it was such a beautiful day that I told the boss to stick it, and he might see me again tomorrow. (Or maybe I asked if I could take some comp time from last week, you never can tell about these things.) :)

At any rate, after I got Cingular straightened out, I headed out of town. Maybe it was the '97-ish Cobra that I passed on the way, but the siren song of the mighty 3.9 was beckoning, and there were no rolling Christmas trees to hinder my progress, so coming off of a four-way stop (right turn), I floored it. It was pretty good--it even managed to trip the AdvaceTrac system while going in a straight line--but it simply wasn't enough.

At the next stop sign, BEEP: ADVANCETRAC OFF. SST in manual shift mode, check for traffic, floor it. One squealing tires, fishtailing left turn later, the following sprang unbidden to mind:

Old man's car MY DYIN' :qIN' @$$! :) :)
