Who knows anything about the Vortec Chevy 454 from the 90's? (found in the chevy trucks)

If your refferring to the SS pick up trucks L-19 454 then I am VERY familiar with it, we have built many.

The L-19 454 only weighs about 150 pounds more than the LT1 by the way, you can almost even them out with aluminum heads, intake, mini starter and lighter water pump.

It wouldn't be hard at all to make 550hp and 600 pound feet of tq from a L-19 454, WITHOUT stroking it.

Using the right fuel injection seems to be the only problem. That's where the 502 comes in, although that is big money compared to just building your own 454.

All's I know is that my stepdad had a 91 (I think) 454 SS chevy and that thing could lay some fatty stripes. I always wanted to drive it but he didn't trust me (he was smarter than I thought).
