the coolest door mod on a Mark ever!!taylor414ce2003 November 12th, 2010, 02:42 PM hope the link works and you have not seen it before!! http://www.flixxy.com/high-tech-car-door.htm Joeychgo November 12th, 2010, 02:57 PM Been around awhile I almost bought the prototype. kustomizingkid November 12th, 2010, 05:20 PM Ive never seen this before! Rodewaryer November 17th, 2010, 02:36 AM Slick. There are compromises though, passing feet over (and often either dripping, rubbing etc on the sill) something that ends up beside you, and the CG issue with the space that needs to fit under the seat yet inside/above the under body. Still interesting though. philly0420 November 23rd, 2010, 10:11 AM Not to mention you have no trunk anymore. All the crap that operates this contraption is taking up the whole damn trunk. Still cool however. remark November 23rd, 2010, 01:44 PM no more sensor lowering i do wish they would have put more R+D into the idea K.B.R December 8th, 2010, 12:27 AM I had saw this video and pictures many times before.Being in a wheelchair and plan on driving my Mark VIII I was looking up ways to help get my chair inside with me.The disappearing-car-door (http://www.disappearing-car-door.com/) was one of the first sites I found. The whole idea is good but like what was mentioned above, having the operating pieces in the trunk takes that away.Another would be,and I didn't think about this until I read it on another site, the strength of the door on an impact. From looking at the video(s) it doesn't look very strong.Almost like you can kick it in. JLewisinSyr December 8th, 2010, 07:51 PM Also you have to figure out how to open the door when the battery goes dead... K.B.R December 8th, 2010, 08:47 PM That's another. That would really suck. | |||||
