Slick. There are compromises though, passing feet over (and often either dripping, rubbing etc on the sill) something that ends up beside you, and the CG issue with the space that needs to fit under the seat yet inside/above the under body. Still interesting though.

Not to mention you have no trunk anymore. All the crap that operates this contraption is taking up the whole damn trunk. Still cool however.

I had saw this video and pictures many times before.Being in a wheelchair and plan on driving my Mark VIII I was looking up ways to help get my chair inside with me.The disappearing-car-door (http://www.disappearing-car-door.com/) was one of the first sites I found.
The whole idea is good but like what was mentioned above,having the operating pieces in the trunk takes that away.Another would be,and I didn't think about this until I read it on another site,the strength of the door on an impact.From looking at the video(s) it doesn't look very strong.Almost like you can kick it in.

Also you have to figure out how to open the door when the battery goes dead...
